Presentation of Luxury Formal Wear from Japan during the Cannes Film Festival
The theme of the collection presented by Maison MUNETAKA YOKOYAMA this time was "Japanesque Sustainable Riviera Formal."
This collection was created for the Cannes stage, fusing the aesthetic sensibilities inherited from Japan's traditional culture and industries with the elegance of the French Riviera.
The collection featured kimono dresses and kimono tuxedos made from kimono fabric, as well as pieces utilizing traditional materials from various regions of Japan such as Nishijin-ori, Tango silk, Hoda-ori, and Yonezawa-ori, along with sustainable collections incorporating upcycled materials.
Kyoto Prefecture - Nishijin-ori [Nishijin Mori-san]
Tuxedos and dresses using Kyoto's Nishijin-ori, boasting over 1000 years of history, were presented. Traditional weaving techniques were fused with contemporary luxury design to convey Japanese aesthetics to the world.
