This initiative, featuring Pikachu and Snorlax wearing nightcaps as 'Sleep Support Ambassadors' to promote sleep awareness, is now entering its second year.

The 'Smart Life Project' is a national campaign led by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare under the slogan 'Let's Extend Healthy Life Expectancy!' It supports people's health promotion efforts with themes such as exercise, diet, and sleep. 'Pokémon Sleep' began its collaboration with the sleep component of this project in 2025.

In this second year, 'Pokémon Sleep' will continue to foster opportunities for people to engage positively with sleep through its unique approach of 'making sleep entertaining.'

Second Distribution of Sleep Awareness Posters Decided

The second distribution of sleep awareness posters, a collaboration between 'Pokémon Sleep' and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, which was highly popular last year, has been decided. The posters, themed 'The Secrets of Sleep,' will playfully explain sleep-related questions with the help of Pokémon from 'Pokémon Sleep.'

The posters will be sent sequentially to facilities that apply, targeting institutions where children from preschoolers to elementary school students spend their time, such as kindergartens, nursery schools, elementary schools, and after-school clubs nationwide.

Sleep Seminar to be Held at 'Children's Kasumigaseki Visit Day'

As part of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's 'Children's Kasumigaseki Visit Day,' 'Pokémon Sleep' will host a sleep seminar titled 'Pikachu and Snorlax Participate! 'Sleep' Seminar' on July 30, 2026 (Thu). This seminar is aimed at preschoolers and their guardians, as well as elementary school students up to the upper grades and their guardians. 'Children's Kasumigaseki Visit Day' is an event where various ministries and agencies collaborate to provide children with opportunities to learn about society during their summer vacation through facility tours and hands-on activities.

During the summer vacation, a time when daily routines can easily become disrupted, experts will provide easy-to-understand explanations on the importance of sleep, offering children a chance to think about sleep and maintain regular lifestyles.

Furthermore, on the day, Pikachu and Snorlax wearing nightcaps, the Sleep Support Ambassadors, will also make an appearance to support children in developing proper sleep habits.
