Bringing the lingering scent of travel into daily life: Jozankei's Scenery-Inspired Aroma "Kano Kou" Second Series to be Released on May 11

Hotel Shikanoyu Co., Ltd. (Location: Jozankei Onsen Nishi 3-chome, Minami-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido) will launch the second series of its original blend essential oil "Kano Kou" (meaning "Scent of Deer") on Monday, May 11, 2026, as a new experience to bring the rich nature of Jozankei home through the five senses.

■ A Scented Bookmark Woven by a Long-Established Inn

"Shikanoyu Hanamomiji" has walked alongside the history of Jozankei. As the oldest inn in Jozankei, we wished to convey the timeless beauty of its scenery, known only to us, through scent.

We hope that guests who visit Jozankei will cherish the comfort and deep healing they felt here, even after checking out. With this wish, we carefully blended the essence of Jozankei, based on Hokkaido fir, with the sensibility unique to a long-established inn.

As a "scented bookmark" that connects travel memories, its fragrance, wafting at unexpected moments, vividly recalls the deep greenery of Jozankei, the sound of clear streams, and the vibrant autumn foliage.

■ Three Stories Depicting Jozankei's Scenery

For this second series, we have prepared three stories themed around "Jozankei's iconic scenery," expressing even the atmosphere and temperature of each landscape.

1. Jozan - Ridgeline -

Jozankei, located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park and surrounded by mountains representative of the Sapporo area. This scent expresses the powerful mountain ranges and the vibrant breath of diverse trees.

2. Toyohira - River Murmurs -

The Toyohira River, a first-class river that gracefully flows through the center of the hot spring town. This scent depicts the pleasant breeze blowing through the riverside in summer, the presence of clear water, and the refreshing sensation of swaying plants in the distance.

3. Futami - Autumn Mosaic -
