With the increase in dual-income couples and changes in family circumstances such as childcare and elder care, the imbalance in household chore burden has become one of the major issues between spouses.
In the "Household Chore Division and Automation" survey conducted by Yomuno targeting 140 married women aged 30-59, 75.8% responded that "wives bear 70% or more" of the burden.
Furthermore, it was found that there are areas where the use of "means to reduce household chore burden" such as home appliances, generative AI, subscriptions, and outsourcing is progressing, and areas where psychological hurdles remain.
Baby Calendar Inc. (formerly Cookpad Baby Inc., Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Keiji Yasuda, hereinafter "Baby Calendar"), which operates the comprehensive lifestyle information media "Yomuno," conducted an "Awareness Survey on Household Chore Division and Automation among Couples" targeting 140 married women aged 30-59, primarily "Yomuno Mates (*1).
