Special Screening of "Toward the Terra..." / "Song of Wind and Trees" & Talk Show Confirmed for June 28 (Sun)!

HUMAX Entertainment Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Michio Akimoto) is pleased to announce that Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas, operated by the company, will host a special screening of the films "Toward the Terra..." and "Song of Wind and Trees" (reference screening), along with a special talk show.

This time, a screening of the film "Toward the Terra...", based on the original work by Ms. Keiko Takemiya and her first film adaptation, has been confirmed.
In conjunction, "Song of Wind and Trees," a film whose screening rights had long been unclear, will be screened in a cinema for the first time, thanks to the cooperation of director Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and Ms. Keiko Takemiya. Director Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, Ms. Keiko Takemiya, and voice actor Ms. Yuko Sasaki will appear together for the first time at the special talk show.

Introduction of Talk Show Guests

Manga Artist / Animation Director: Yoshikazu Yasuhiko (Director of "Song of Wind and Trees")

Born December 9, 1947. From Hokkaido. Joined Mushi Production in 1970 and became an animator. In 1979, he was responsible for character design and animation direction for "Mobile Suit Gundam". In 1983, he made his debut as a director for a theatrical animation film with "Crusher Joe". He debuted as a manga artist with "Arion" in 1979 and has focused on manga since 1989. In 1990, he received the 19th Japan Cartoonists Association Award for Excellence for "Namuji - Okuninushi -", in 2000, the 4th Japan Media Arts Festival Manga Division Excellence Award for "Oudou no Inu", and in 2012, the 43rd Seiun Award Comic Division for "Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN". In 2021, he received the 44th Japan Academy Film Prize Association Special Award. In 2022, he received the Reiwa 4th Agency for Cultural Affairs Film Award (Film Contribution Division). In 2024, he received the 7th Yasushi Inoue Memorial Cultural Award Special Award. In March 2026, he will be honored in the TAAF2026 Animation Achievement Division.

Manga Artist: Keiko Takemiya (Original Author of "Song of Wind and Trees", "Toward the Terra...")

Born February 13, 1950. From Tokushima Prefecture. Debuted in commercial magazines in 1968 with "Ringo no Tsumi". Dropped out of Tokushima University due to busy regular serialization work and moved to Tokyo to fully pursue her career as an artist. In 1978, she received the Seiun Award for "Toward the Terra...", and in 1980, the 25th Shogakukan Manga Award for both "Toward the Terra..." and "Song of Wind and Trees". Her representative work "Toward the Terra..." was adapted into a theatrical animation in 1980 and again into a TV anime in 2007. From 2000, she became a professor at Kyoto Seika University. Since then, she has dedicated 20 years to nurturing future generations.
In 2012, she received the Japan Cartoonists Association Award and the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award.
From 2014, she served as President of Kyoto Seika University and is currently an Honorary Professor.
In 2014, she received the Medal with Purple Ribbon. In 2025, she will be honored as a Person of Cultural Merit.
In March 2026, she will be honored in the TAAF2026 Animation Achievement Division.

Voice Actor: Yuko Sasaki (Gilbert in "Song of Wind and Trees")

Born November 19, 1961. From Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Started her career as a voice actor in 1982. Her representative work includes consistently playing Sakura Kotake (Grandma) in the anime "Chibi Maruko-chan" since its initial broadcast. Other roles include Miranda in "Venus Wars" and Shen Hua in the anime "BLACK LAGOON".
