Hit Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Hideki Fukai; hereinafter "Hit"), a company specializing in outdoor advertising, has acquired an existing digital signage system installed on the B1 level of Ikebukuro Station and will begin operating it as the 'Ikebukuro Station Hit Screen' starting September 1, 2026.

In addition to the large outdoor digital signage 'Ikebukuro Hit Vision' that Hit currently operates in the Ikebukuro area, this new initiative creates additional advertising touchpoints with consumers within the station premises.

This media platform marks Hit's first foray into transit advertising (station-based media) since the company's founding.

Features of the Ikebukuro Station Hit Screen

The 'Ikebukuro Station Hit Screen' is a digital signage platform for transit advertising located on the B1 level of Ikebukuro Station—one of Japan's major terminal stations, served by four railway operators and eight lines. Positioned at the central transfer corridor where the station's main ticket gates are concentrated, the signage boasts high visibility. It enables advertising reach to a broad audience, including commuters and students, as well as visitors coming to Ikebukuro for shopping and entertainment.

The platform consists of a set of media: eight-sided pillar-mounted digital displays on the central passageway and a wall-mounted screen along Orange Road. Deployed across multiple surfaces along passenger flow routes, it enables continuous ad exposure. Furthermore, it supports audio playback—a rare feature in transit advertising—ensuring ads leave a lasting impression even in the visually crowded station environment. The platform also supports exclusive single-advertiser campaigns, allowing brands to intensively communicate their identity and campaign themes throughout the station.

Supporting Advertising Campaigns in the Ikebukuro Area

In the Ikebukuro area, combining the street-level 'Ikebukuro Hit Vision' with the in-station 'Ikebukuro Station Hit Screen' enables multiple advertising touchpoints aligned with consumer behavior—such as during in-station movement, transitioning from station to street, and during street-level停留 and roaming.

This expanded reach allows Hit to plan and propose multifaceted promotional campaigns within the Ikebukuro district.
