JAS Certified Ponkan Juice Begins Shipping to the EU

Punctual Inc. (Head Office: Susaki City, Kochi Prefecture, Representative Director: Ken Moritoki) and Kochi Asahi Seika Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kitagawa Village, Kochi Prefecture, Representative Director: Shinobu Kato) announced on June 30, 2026, that they have begun shipping JAS certified Ponkan juice, grown by producer Tajyoen in Susaki City, Kochi Prefecture, to the EU. On this day, with the city's character 'Shinjo-kun' and others watching, approximately 2 tons of Ponkan juice, which had been frozen and stored in a warehouse in Kochi City, were loaded into a large truck container, and transportation commenced.

Background

This export was made possible when Punctual exhibited Tajyoen's Ponkan juice at the Kochi Prefecture booth within the Japan Pavilion, set up by JETRO, at "ANUGA," one of the world's largest food trade fairs, held in Germany in October 2025. The destination for export is Palmifrance in France, and the juice is scheduled to be served at five-star hotels and other establishments in France. Ponkan from Tajyoen are rare fruits grown on 60-year-old trees, and are characterized by their rich aroma and deep flavor, achieved through careful post-harvest ripening.
