First Ever! 'Sumida Okinawa Festival' Records Over 36,240 Visitors!

The Sumida Okinawa Festival Executive Committee is pleased to report that the 'Sumida Okinawa Festival,' held over two days on May 9 and 10, 2026, at Kinshi Park in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, concluded with great success. This event was held under the concept of 'Meeting another Okinawa in Sumida,' with the goal of promoting cultural exchange, tourism, and industrial development by showcasing the charm of Okinawa and Sumida Ward's respective cultures, food, music, crafts, and people. Blessed with good weather, the event recorded over 36,240 visitors during the two days. The venue featured booths for Okinawan cuisine, local gourmet food, traditional crafts, merchandise, and corporate sponsors. On stage, MC'd by Okinawan comedians 'Hanjiro,' various performances including Eisa, Sanshin live music, Japanese drums, and Bon Odori brought great excitement to the venue.
