Drone School Tokyo to Start In-Store Sales of "National Qualification Courses" at Bic Camera

Hummingbird Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Nobuhiko Suzuki), which operates the Drone School Tokyo Group, one of Japan's largest drone schools, will begin selling training courses for the Unmanned Aircraft Operator Pilot (Drone National Qualification) at the Bic Camera Yurakucho Store starting May 2026.

Background and Objectives of Collaboration

Since the launch of the "Unmanned Aircraft Operator Skill Certificate (National Qualification)" system following the amendment of the Civil Aeronautics Act in December 2022, there has been a surge in demand for operators with correct knowledge and piloting skills for both industrial and hobbyist purposes.

Drone School Tokyo has previously provided training courses through its schools in Odaiba, Shinjuku, Yokohama, and its website.

By offering training plans at the Bic Camera Yurakucho Store, a location frequented by many drone users for purchasing aircraft, we aim to seamlessly connect "drone purchases" with "obtaining a piloting license," thereby providing an environment where more customers can safely utilize drones.

A course for holders of private licenses or those with a certain amount of flight experience, following a prescribed curriculum for experienced individuals.

First-Class Unmanned Aircraft Operator Pilot - Experienced Course

A course for experienced individuals aiming for the highest qualification, enabling visual-line-of-sight flight over third-party airspace (Level 4 flight).

This course is for individuals who already hold a Second-Class Unmanned Aircraft Operator qualification.
