The 'Neko Feel' series was launched in October 2022 as a winter bedding item focused on pleasant tactile sensations. The product, which pursued the 'feeling of petting a real cat,' became a hot topic on social media, with customers saying, 'I use it even in summer while running the air conditioner.' Following a survey on official X (formerly Twitter) last November, the company received earnest requests from Neko Feel fans saying, 'I want to touch this texture all year round!' The passionate desire of customers, 'I want to be with my beloved fluffy blanket all the time,' became the major driving force behind the development of this summer product.

~Reproducing 'The Best Summer Spot Found by a Cat'~
The inspiration came from 'cat behavior.' Cats are geniuses at finding the coolest spots in a house during the summer. They always know where the comfortable 'best summer spots' are, whether it's a corner of the hardwood floor or a hallway with a breeze.
We aimed to fuse 'the happiness of petting a cat' with 'the coolness a cat finds.' In an air-conditioned room, being healed by the cat's fluffy coat while being wrapped in the coolness found underneath its belly—to create this blissful experience that every cat owner can relate to, we adopted a reversible design using fluffy material and contact-cooling material.

Maintaining the exquisite texture that feels like a cat, the reverse side uses a smooth and cool contact-cooling fabric to make summer comfortable. Just by flipping it over depending on the mood or room temperature, it instantly becomes the best spot a cat would teach you.

We applied a quilting process featuring cute paw-print patterns as if a cat were walking by. The stitches of these paw prints prevent the Neko Feel fabric and the cooling fabric from slipping, significantly improving usability as a blanket. This is a thoughtful touch unique to Neko Feel.

Since we prioritized texture above all else, we started by having all staff touch various materials. After defining the ideal image, we produced the fabric originally. We struggled with material selection—which is comfortable? Which feels most like a cat? Ultimately, we adopted a longer pile of approximately 9mm and used dense fabric made of very fine 75-denier yarn, recreating a smooth, melting touch that makes you want to pet it again and again.
