Hundred Times (operated by National Spring Co., Ltd.) has improved its seating product "DotSheet®," which re-designs the act of "sitting." General sales will begin on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

This product has been improved from the conventional double-layered structure, where thin pocket coils were wrapped in a cover, to an innovative manufacturing method where springs are directly encased in the fabric itself.

This integrated molding realizes a fit where the delicate movement of the springs is directly transmitted to the body, and at the same time, allows for full washing.

In modern society, "sitting time" continues to increase.

International organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) have pointed out the health risks associated with prolonged sitting, and Japanese people, in particular, tend to have longer sitting times globally.

However, while people seek quality sleep, the act of "sitting," which also consumes a long time, has not been adequately addressed until now.

DotSheet aims to address this situation by allowing the body to continue moving naturally while sitting, thereby reducing physical burden.

"A new seating structure born from dialogue with the body"

General cushions support the body by sinking or repelling. On the other hand, DotSheet achieves a seating surface that continuously moves subtly in response to changes in load, thanks to its built-in coil springs.

This subtle movement unconsciously promotes weight shifts, and dynamic support reduces the burden on the body caused by fixed postures. It is a seating surface that not only "supports" but also continuously dialogues with the body.

DotSheet is developed based on the precision spring technology of National Spring, a spring manufacturer.

Each coil spring moves independently, dispersing body pressure and absorbing subtle vibrations. It is designed as a structure that reacts to body movements, rather than just being soft, dispersing pressure on specific areas and supporting the reduction of physical burden from prolonged sitting *1.

*1 Effect confirmed in collaboration with a research team led by Professor Seiji Saito of Okayama Prefectural University.

It was demonstrated that it suppresses muscle activity in the lower back, abdomen, and thighs during sitting, reducing physical burdens such as "fatigue" and "dullness." A tendency to prevent excess water from accumulating in the legs was also observed, and it is expected to prevent blood stagnation and swelling.

Implemented tests:

June 18 - July 4, 2024: Evaluation of trunk and lower limb muscle activity. 20 subjects.

November 13 - November 14, 2025: Body water content change measurement, subjective evaluation of swelling, fatigue, dullness, etc. 10 subjects.

Designed for long-term use and cleanliness (Photo is for illustration purposes only)

DotSheet is designed with consideration for durability and comfort for continuous daily use. The internal springs have cleared 1.2 million repetitive compression tests *2, designed to withstand long-term use.

The surface uses highly abrasion-resistant, soft-touch fabric. It also has excellent breathability, maintaining a comfortable state without stuffiness during prolonged use.

Furthermore, as an improvement from the conventional model, rust prevention treatment has been added to the springs.

The main body is fully washable by machine or hand, allowing for daily maintenance of cleanliness.

*2 In-house compression testing machine repeatedly loaded a 35mm thick cushion by pressing it down to 8mm, 100 times per minute, 1.2 million times. As a result, the maximum thickness reduction remained at 1.45mm (approx. 4.1%), confirming high shape retention.

Recommended for these people and environments (Photo is for illustration purposes only)

DotSheet is not a product for a specific chair. It functions simply by being placed on existing chairs, benches, floors, or any other surface. It is an add-on seating product *3 inspired by the Japanese Zabuton.

This is a concept of adding new functionality to the current environment, rather than replacing the chair itself.

*3 While traditional Zabuton cushions support the body on a flat surface and fix the posture, DotSheet has a structure that continuously moves while supporting at points.

DotSheet is intended for use by the following people and environments:

✓Business persons, SEs, designers, and creators who spend all day at their desks

✓Students and examinees engaged in long hours of study

✓Remote workers working from home

✓Athletes who need to maintain their physical condition

✓Those in mobile environments with long driving times (e.g., long-distance drivers)

✓Situations with continuous sitting time such as meetings and discussions

✓Medical, educational, and public facilities where people sit for long periods
