New Theater "EX THEATER ARIAKE" Opens Today at Tokyo Dream Park! Grand Opening with Inaugural Performance "AmberS -Ambers-"

The new theater "EX THEATER ARIAKE" within the multi-entertainment complex "TOKYO DREAM PARK" opened today, April 25th. The inaugural performance, "AmberS -Ambers-", also commenced on the same day.

Amidst a crowd of eagerly awaiting visitors at the theater entrance, the doors opened with a greeting: "A new theater is born here today. We will do our utmost to be loved by everyone, so please support us." To commemorate the opening, attendees on the first day received an original commemorative pen, grandly celebrating the birth of the new theater.

With the concept of "a theater where you encounter moments that stir the soul," this theater will designate the year until March 2027 as its "OPENING YEAR." It will sequentially present a diverse lineup of performances, starting with "AmberS -Ambers-" starring Kazuya Ohashi and Takuto Teranishi, with creative producer, original story, and script by Shigeaki Kato. Other productions include Gekidan Shinkansen's "Aketchiko! ~Steam Black Diamond, or The Island of Madness~" featuring guest actors Mamoru Miyano and Tomohiro Kamiyama; the Tony Award-winning masterpiece musical "Dear Evan Hansen" starring Hayato Kakizawa and Ryo Yoshizawa (double cast, in alphabetical order); the Japan premiere of the West End sensation new musical "The Time Traveler's Wife" starring Hikaru Iwamoto; "Knockin' on Locked Door THE STAGE," the first stage adaptation of the popular novel series, starring Tatsuya Ueda and Noel Kawashima; the musical "Me and My Girl" starring Hiroki Miura as the protagonist and Mone Kamishiraishi as the heroine; and "Monty Python's Spamalot" musical, marking Takanori Iwata's debut in a musical.

EX THEATER ARIAKE boasts approximately 1,500 seats, optimized for plays and musicals, characterized by an immersive space design that allows audiences to feel close to the stage. With a thorough commitment to a comfortable viewing environment, it features ergonomically designed seats and a "staggered seating arrangement (center block)" where the front row does not obstruct the view. Furthermore, a "floating sound insulation structure," which separates the floor, walls, and ceiling from the building's main structure, achieves a space unaffected by external noise despite being within a complex facility. It also features an open foyer with floor-to-ceiling glass allowing natural light, providing a special experience for all audience members, along with smooth access from two stations: Yurikamome "Tokyo Big Sight Station" and Rinkai Line "Kokusai-Tenjijo Station."

Seating arrangements from the first to third floors are designed with utmost consideration for visibility, with the center block adopting a "staggered seating arrangement" so that front-row spectators do not obstruct the view. Furthermore, the design thins the part of the seat that touches the back of the knees when seated, creating extra legroom and reducing physical strain, allowing for comfortable enjoyment of long, grand productions.

【A Theater Capable of Diverse Production Effects Tailored to Each Work】
This theater allows for the installation of stage mechanisms tailored to the productions being staged. By making the stage floor removable with "assembly flooring," highly flexible stage productions can be realized. All audience seats in front of the center aisle can be removed. Flexible arrangements such as an orchestra pit with selectable setup areas, thrust stages, and hanamichi (runways) are possible. This allows for more immersive audience space productions, which are a global trend.
