The Westin Osaka (Kita-ku, Osaka / General Manager Masami Morita) will hold the first one-on-one WATSU (Water Shiatsu) sessions in an Osaka hotel at its fitness pool on Saturday, July 4, 2026. We offer a special underwater therapy experience where guests surrender to warm water, and a therapist gently moves their body to induce deep relaxation.
WATSU is an aquatic bodywork performed in a warm pool, a therapy that releases tension in mind and body through stretching and gentle swaying while enveloped in a sense of floating.
This event features 45-minute one-on-one sessions by two experienced therapists. It is open to both hotel guests and external visitors. It is ideal for daytime refreshment or as a relaxation option after work.
We invite you to experience WATSU, which is still limited in availability in Osaka, on this occasion.
About the Therapists
Kiyoko Kobayashi
Starting her career in swimming and aquatic fitness instruction, she supported a wide range of generations and realized that "the comfort of water comes from letting go," drawing her to the healing power of water. Her journey into WATSU began after encountering WATSU sessions for children with disabilities and their parents. She has been studying WATSU since 2002, also deepening her knowledge in Lomilomi and bodywork. Both in and out of water, what she values most is "time to relax mind and body and return to one's true self." WATSU is not about "doing" but simply "being." She gently supports this process with water.
Yoshimi Matsuura
Familiar with water since childhood, she excelled in competitive swimming, Japanese swimming styles, and fin swimming, setting a national record in 2003. After many years of swimming instruction, she encountered WATSU in 2012 and became a certified provider in 2013. She is a pioneer who first introduced WATSU to Kyoto. Based on mindfulness and energy work, she offers sessions themed "Return to Essence." Incorporating Myotherapy and integrative medicine, she practices deep healing touch in water. She is currently active mainly in Kyoto.
