【2XU】Athlete Contract Signed with Shota Shiode, Member of Asahi Kasei Track and Field Club

2XU (Two Times You), an Australian-born compression wear brand, has announced the signing of an athlete contract with Shota Shiode (hereinafter, Mr. Shiode), a long-distance runner belonging to the Asahi Kasei Track and Field Club.

Mr. Shiode is a runner who possesses both stable running and strong competitiveness in Ekiden (long-distance relay road race) and long-distance events. He excels in the balance of speed and endurance, and his race management ability to constantly maintain an optimal position while reading the flow of the race is also high, characterized by a stable running style.

He joined the Aoyama Gakuin University Track and Field Club (long-distance block) after graduating from Sera High School, a prestigious and strong school for Ekiden. In the three major Ekiden races, particularly the Hakone Ekiden, he won the section award for the 8th section for three consecutive years, and notably, in his fourth year, he set a new section record, greatly contributing to their three consecutive victories. Having experienced being the best in Japan in both high school and university, he will now belong to the prestigious corporate team Asahi Kasei, and is one of the promising athletes expected to perform not only in Ekiden but also in marathons.
