Former Happy End members Shigeru Suzuki and Akira Inoue confirmed for event! Pre-sale tickets for 'Eiichi Ohtaki's NIAGARA 50th Odyssey Live' film screening available until May 6 (Wed, Holiday) at 18:00.

Eiichi Ohtaki, selected as a tribute artist symbolizing Japanese music history at MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 this June, will be featured in a special program. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Niagara Records, founded by Ohtaki, two live films—'Eiichi Ohtaki Niagara Records 50th anniversary Eiichi Ohtaki's NIAGARA 50th Odyssey Live' and 'Shigeru Suzuki sings Eiichi Ohtaki vol.9 - Niagara Records 50th Anniversary Special'—will be released on Blu-ray on June 10.

To celebrate this release, screening events will be held at movie theaters in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. The screenings will take place over two days, June 1 (Mon) and June 2 (Tue). Additionally, a rare studio live film, 'Fussa 45 Studio Live 1976,' recorded at Fussa 45 Studio, will be shown as special footage.

For the screening event in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Akira Inoue and Shigeru Suzuki are confirmed to appear. Akira Inoue is scheduled for June 1 (Mon), and Shigeru Suzuki for June 2 (Tue).

Both guests are deeply involved in both featured works. Akira Inoue participated in both projects as a keyboardist, serving as the bandmaster for the special band that performed all the songs in 'NIAGARA 50th Odyssey Live' and handling the sound production. On the other hand, Shigeru Suzuki joined 'NIAGARA 50th Odyssey Live' as a special guest guitarist and played a central role in 'Shigeru Suzuki sings Eiichi Ohtaki vol.9,' where he performed Ohtaki's masterpieces with his own singing and playing.

Akira Inoue is a keyboardist who has supported the Niagara sound for many years as Ohtaki's right-hand man. Shigeru Suzuki is well-known as a member of the legendary band 'Happy End'—alongside Eiichi Ohtaki, Haruomi Hosono, and Takashi Matsumoto—which is the origin of modern Japanese music and has had a profound influence both domestically and internationally. These two, most fitting to speak about Ohtaki, will be welcomed as guests.

Furthermore, the MC will be music critic Kenta Hagiwara, who published 'Happy Ending: The Making of Eiichi Ohtaki,' a compilation of a long interview conducted in August 1991 under the promise of 'publication after death.'

The 140-minute program will screen the two main works followed by 'Fussa 45 Studio Live 1976,' allowing fans to fully enjoy the charm of Eiichi Ohtaki, a singer-songwriter and music producer who reached the pinnacle of pop music. Attendees can experience the special live performance celebrating the 50th anniversary of Niagara Records on the big screen with dynamic yet delicate sound. Clapping and cheering are allowed during the screening. Pre-sale ticket applications began at noon on April 14 (Tue).
