Laufey: Japan-exclusive jacket edition of her latest album featuring last year's live audio to be released to commemorate her June Japan tour! MV for new song "Madwoman" featuring a star-studded cast also unveiled!

Laufey, a new-generation singer-songwriter from Iceland based in LA, has gained high acclaim for her neo-classical charm that transcends genre boundaries while cherishing roots such as jazz, classical, and bossa nova. She won "Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album" at this year's Grammy Awards for her latest album "A Matter of Time" released last August. Following two consecutive Grammy wins and the biggest hit of her career, the domestic CD of the deluxe edition album "A Matter of Time: The Final Hour" is scheduled for release on Wednesday, May 27. Additionally, the MV for her new song "Madwoman," which was digitally released on Friday, April 10, featuring a gorgeous cast, is now available on Laufey's official YouTube channel.

The "Madwoman" MV is directed by Warren Fu, who has worked with Dua Lipa, The 1975, and Daft Punk, and features a diverse cast representing Gen Z, including actor Hudson Williams, figure skater Alysa Liu, KATSEYE's Megan Skiendiel, and Lola Tung. Shot in LA, this work depicts the sense of incongruity lurking behind a seemingly perfect appearance, featuring Laufey's friends and idols.

In addition to the star-studded cast, director Warren Fu, cinematographer Andrew Truong, and executive producers Oscar Tung and Christine Yi (co-founders of C100), and Maqui Qi of Gold House participated in the project, making it a gathering of Asian and Asian-American talent.

Laufey spoke about the MV:
"When I was young, I felt a lack of representation of people who looked like me in music and media. With this 'Madwoman' video, I wanted to be that representation myself."

Laufey performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the US on Sunday, April 12 local time, and will take the same stage again this weekend. From May, she will embark on the "A Matter of Time Tour" Asia leg, visiting Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, and more. This tour has gained incredible popularity in the West, with 20,000-capacity arena shows in North America selling out in less than a week. Her highly anticipated Japan show will take place on Friday, June 5 at Tokyo Garden Theater.

To commemorate this special Japan visit, "A Matter of Time: The Final Hour," which was released digitally and as an import on Friday, April 10, will be released with a Japan-exclusive jacket on Wednesday, May 27, just before her Japan tour. In addition to all 19 tracks from the original version, it will include two live tracks from her "Laufey's Serenade" Japan show held at Kanda Square Hall in July 2025 as bonus tracks. This special one-night solo performance offers a different charm from her regular tour shows, allowing listeners to touch her true essence.
