Director Toru Murakawa (89) of 'Abunai Deka' & New Film Starring Tasuku Emoto x Ryudo Uzaki: Support Project Underway in Murayama City!

■ The latest work, inheriting the spirit of the legendary "Game Series," has begun.
The film "LAST DANCE The Last Game" (https://lastdance-movie.jp) is produced by Central Arts, known for works such as the "Abunai Deka" series. This new film is based on the "Game Series" which became a big hit with legendary actor Yusaku Matsuda playing the assassin Shohei Narumi in "The Most Dangerous Game" (1978), "Murder Game" (1978), and "Execution Game" (1979).
For this work, "reckless legend staff" who know the spirit of the original production, including Toru Murakawa (89), who directed all three parts half a century ago, Kanjin Kashiwabara (76) for planning and production, Shoichi Maruyama (77) for screenwriting, and Takeshi Hamada (74) for cinematography, have reunited. With undiminished passion, they are creating an unprecedented "quiet hard-boiled action" film set in the countryside of Murayama, delivering it to contemporary audiences.

■ A new hard-boiled world showcased by talented cast members
Starring in the film are Tasuku Emoto and Ryudo Uzaki.
Tasuku Emoto plays Yuto Mikami, a former detective commissioned by a yakuza group to find Narumi, who disappeared 45 years ago. Ryudo Uzaki plays Ryoji Kurosaki, a man believed to be Narumi, hiding in Murayama City.

The setting for this film is Murayama City, Yamagata Prefecture, the hometown of director Toru Murakawa. Filming, which covers almost the entire city, received comprehensive support from Murayama City, ranging from providing locations such as the city hall, civic hall, and Higashizawa Rose Park, to bear countermeasures, catering, and accommodation assistance.
