Limited-Time Shop 'SEGA 65th THE LIMITED SHOP' Commemorating SEGA's 65th Anniversary Opens Today at Shibuya MIYASHITA PARK!

SEGA Corporation opened a limited-time shop event, "SEGA 65th THE LIMITED SHOP," commemorating its 65th anniversary, today, Thursday, May 21, at MIYASHITA PARK in Shibuya. The event will be held until Thursday, May 28.

"SEGA 65th THE LIMITED SHOP" is a limited-time shop that crosses over the diverse IP and culture SEGA has created over its 65-year history, transmitting new value beyond the boundaries of gaming. At the event venue, completely new products created specifically for this project are being deployed, forming a lineup composed of two axes: artist collaboration products and original products.

Furthermore, through collaboration art with artists and spatial presentation, the event provides a space where visitors can experience its worldview.

Artist Profile:
Born in Omiya, Saitama Prefecture. Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Product Design. Characterized by dynamic and unpredictable forms, a sense of three-dimensionality, and line drawings with strong pen pressure, he develops his own unique typographic expression. In 2022, he provided artwork for the launch merchandise of JOOPITER, a digital auction house founded by Pharrell Williams.

Artist Profile:
A graphic designer/artist based in Tokyo. He started in earnest following his solo exhibition in LA in 2017, expressing a slightly twisted sense of humor and a pop worldview through digital graphics and drawings. In addition to collaborating with and providing graphics to domestic and international brands, he is actively involved in units with various artists.

Artist Profile:
Born in Okayama Prefecture in 1986. Parallel to fashion and advertising, he is also actively engaged in creating artworks utilizing technology.
For this project, he produced collaborative works using glitch embroidery, which is also his representative work. This is a technique of rewriting the binary (information converted into base-2) of embroidery data for computerized sewing machines to directly cause a glitch in the movement of the needle. A glitch refers to the corruption of data or equipment itself, or a state of corrupted but playable data. By intentionally outputting corrupted data, familiar images and logos cause a bug in the viewer's recognition.
