Smile Company, Inc. (Headquarters: Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Shunsuke Yamano; hereinafter, Smile Company), as part of its efforts to develop overseas sales channels for its "Smile Truck" business specializing in the purchase of trucks, buses, and heavy machinery, conducted an inspection in the Philippines in April 2026. During this inspection, the company conducted on-site research into trends in demand for used trucks, local sales schemes, logistics and inventory management systems, and the potential for collaboration with local companies.

Smile Truck aims to connect "working vehicles" that support social infrastructure such as logistics, construction, and transportation, not to stop them when they have completed their role, but to connect them to the next necessary site. Expanding sales channels according to the demand and characteristics of each vehicle, beyond domestic purchase and recirculation, is one of the important themes for maximizing vehicle value and realizing sustainable distribution. This inspection in the Philippines provided a concrete opportunity to verify that potential.

During this inspection, we visited Makati City, BGC (Bonifacio Global City), and Subic. In Subic, through interviews with "SPECTRUM LOGISTICS," we confirmed that vehicles procured in Japan can be purchased and understood the trends in vehicle types and sales methods in demand locally. We also confirmed the establishment of customer attraction and negotiation flows in the local market. Through this inspection, we were able to concretely identify effective directions for expansion into the Philippines.

Connecting vehicles purchased domestically to necessary overseas markets appropriately not only enhances vehicle value but also leads to the realization of a wider circulation of "working vehicles." Smile Company will continue to build a recirculation system with an eye on both domestic and international markets through "Smile Truck," leveraging its strengths in visit-based and community-oriented services cultivated in the passenger car domain. By connecting vehicles that have completed their role in Japan to the next necessary sites, we will provide operators supporting social infrastructure such such as logistics, construction, and transportation with more satisfying options for sale and reuse.

Comment from Representative Director, Shunsuke Yamano:

"Through this inspection in the Philippines, we confirmed that there is sufficient potential for overseas sales channels for used trucks. Even vehicles that have completed their role in Japan are still needed overseas, and we believe that appropriately connecting such vehicles to their next sites is a meaningful initiative from the perspective of effective utilization of vehicle value.

Furthermore, through this inspection, we gained concrete insights into market characteristics different from Japan, such as vehicle types and specifications in demand, sales methods, and inventory turnover concepts. We recognize anew that it is crucial to correctly understand local practices and business customs and to carefully build relationships with reliable partners when expanding overseas.

Smile Truck will continue to steadily advance the creation of a recirculation system with an eye on overseas markets, leveraging the knowledge cultivated domestically, as a business that connects the value of 'working vehicles' to their next sites. We will continue to build trust and実績 (track record) while aiming for sustainable business growth."
