■ Sustainable Beer Garden 'Drink, eat, and enjoy. Leading to something a little good for the environment'
The word 'sustainable' is often perceived as difficult or special.
However, what if the time spent having a drink with colleagues after work and enjoying what you like naturally led to environmentally friendly actions without you realizing it?
This event, now in its third year, aims to create a place where people can naturally and comfortably experience resource circulation through 'slightly better choices' that they can make without feeling pressured as an extension of their daily lives.
[A little good for the environment ①] A circulation to 'experience' by drinking and eating
■ 'Experiencing' Garbage Station
At the center of the venue, a garbage station, the symbol of this event, will be set up as the main monument. It is not just a garbage dump but is designed for 'experiencing,' creating a space where visitors can naturally touch the mechanism of resource circulation.
Design: Wrap Architecture
This garbage station adopts a design reminiscent of the 'Kamikatsu Zero Waste Center,' a base for disseminating Kamikatsu Town's zero-waste initiatives.
It embodies the overall concept of the event by utilizing reusable fixtures and materials and using 'environmentally friendly paint.'
Rock Paint Co., Ltd.
With the cooperation of Rock Paint Co., Ltd., a clear paint containing insect-repellent ingredients made from reused coffee grounds is used for the garbage station. Furthermore, a roller made from recycled marine microplastics is adopted for painting, realizing 'circular painting' where the painting process itself is environmentally friendly.

■ Creating the future from the action of 'throwing away'
To realize the 'sustainable urban development balancing environmental consideration and economic activities (*)' advocated by the Mitsubishi Estate Group, we will develop initiatives to make urban visitors feel closer to the mechanism of circulation.
By 'visualizing' the circulation process of containers and materials used in the event, we create an opportunity for visitors to intuitively experience the existence of new choices where 'throwing away does not equal the end.'
* As targets for reducing environmental impact, we aim for a 90% waste reuse rate and a 20% reduction in waste emissions (compared to FY2019 / per m²), and we aim for a 100% waste reuse rate in the Marunouchi area (Otemachi, Marunouchi, Yurakucho).
In the food and beverage area, with the cooperation of companies undertaking sustainable initiatives, we will reduce waste emissions by receiving tableware and cutlery.
ChopValue Japan
For some of the cutlery, disposable chopsticks derived from bamboo with low environmental impact are introduced. After use and sorting, they are collected by ChopValue Japan and reborn into fixtures such as furniture. https://chopvalue.jp/
UACJ
A comprehensive aluminum manufacturer. Adopted original aluminum cups for the event. After use and sorting, they are melted and reborn as materials for aluminum cans and aluminum cups. https://www.uacj.co.jp
EcoinnoJapan
Introduced plastic/PFAS-free disposable food containers made primarily from sugarcane bagasse. They are composted and turned into potting soil by farmers in the suburbs of the Kanto region and utilized for vegetable cultivation. https://www.ecoinno.co.jp
Also, as the concept literally suggests, we have set up a specially designed eating and drinking space tailored to this event so that visitors can first enjoy the event itself. While considering the environment by adopting fixtures utilizing scrap wood and materials that can be reused even after dismantling, we provide a comfortable space where visitors can gather around a table with their companions and enjoy conversations. Around this area, talk sessions (free participation) introducing the initiatives of exhibitors and companies, and cooperation between urban and rural areas will be held.
