Umbilical Cord and Cord Blood Banking Service "HOPECELL" Significantly Expands Lump-Sum Payment Discounts

Stemcell Institute, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takafumi Shimizu; hereinafter "the Company") will revise the lump-sum payment discount amount for its family banking service "HOPECELL," which stores "umbilical cords" and "cord blood" collected at birth for future use, for contracts concluded on or after June 30, 2026, 5:00 PM.

Umbilical cords and cord blood are precious cellular resources that can only be collected at the time of birth. The Company is working to enhance its services to allow customers to choose the storage content, duration, and payment methods according to their family's wishes and preferences.

With this revision, the fee structure will change to offer a discount equivalent to 3 years of storage fees for 10-year storage and 5 years of storage fees for 20-year storage. This will result in a maximum discount of \66,000 when contracting for the 20-year storage of the W Hope Plan with a lump-sum payment. This revision will create a more accessible fee structure for families who wish to store their umbilical cords and cord blood for a longer period in preparation for the future.

As a pioneer in private cord blood banking, the Company has been entrusted with the umbilical cords and cord blood, which can only be preserved at the time of birth, as an important preparation for the future of families. We will continue to promote initiatives that consider the future utilization potential of stored cells, further enhancing the storage value of umbilical cords and cord blood.
