[TOMPEI Profile] An older-generation singer who continues to sing with the slogan 'Energizing Wakayama through song.' He has co-starred with numerous musicians including Masaki Ueda, Monsieur Kamayatsu, Bread & Butter, Ryudo Uzaki, Susumu Kanda, Masahiro Sayama, and Hana*Hana. In 2014, he sang the national anthem at the professional baseball interleague game at Kyocera Dome Osaka and at the WBC Flyweight Title Match. The representative song 'Yume wa Tochu' (Dream in Progress) by his leader band 'TOMPEI BAND' became the ending theme for Kansai TV's 'Gyokuseki!' and TV Osaka's 'Naniyo!?'. In May 2018, he was awarded the Wakayama Prefecture Governor's Award (for long-standing educational and cultural contributions). In May of the same year, he held a concert drawing 2,000 people at the main hall of the Wakayama Prefectural Cultural Hall. The following year, in 2019, he actively performed, including holding a solo LIVE at ZERO in Ginza, Tokyo.
