Seminar Overview:
This seminar aims to provide a systematic overview of next-generation lithium-ion battery development from the perspectives of material technology, manufacturing technology, battery system technology, and market trends, aiming for both high safety and high performance. First, we will organize the market trends for lithium-ion batteries and the performance requirements for each application. Next, we will explain the operating principles of lithium-ion batteries and current challenges, focusing on thermal runaway mechanisms to present ideas for their causes and suppression methods.
Regarding manufacturing processes, we will review the technical points of representative processes such as kneading, coating, drying, and pressing. For positive and negative electrodes, we will compare the characteristics and challenges of mainstream active materials, and discuss the roles of binders, conductive additives, and current collectors that support them. For separators and electrolytes, we will briefly explain the presence or absence of ceramic coating, development trends of non-woven fabric separators, electrolyte additives, and interactions with each component. Finally, based on disassembly investigations of actual EV batteries recovered through disassembly, we will explain battery structures and component usage, and comprehensively consider the future direction of battery technology.
※This seminar will be a live streaming seminar using the video conferencing tool "Zoom" on the day. Please refer to the tool for recommended environments. A URL for viewing will be sent separately via email at a later date.
