What is 'China Festival Ishikawa'?
Under the theme of knowing and sharing the 'now' of China, this event promotes cultural, tourism, and economic exchange between Japan and China. Since 2017, this project has been a platform for introducing Chinese culture in Japan. In Ishikawa Prefecture, grassroots exchange has deepened through mutual aid, such as support provided by many Chinese companies during recent earthquakes. 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the friendly exchange city agreement between Kanazawa and Dalian, and the 45th anniversary of the sister city agreement with Suzhou. This event aims to further promote exchange. Approximately 40 booths from Chinese restaurants, companies, and organizations are expected to participate.

In addition to food booths featuring authentic Chinese cuisine, there will be experiential booths to feel the diverse culture of China and exhibition booths introducing attractive tourist destinations across China. Visitors can experience the deep charm of China.
■ Performances by Sunplaza Nakano-kun and Erhu Player Kiriko!
Sunplaza Nakano-kun and Pappala Kawai are confirmed to perform. Additionally, an emotional performance by Erhu player Kiriko is scheduled, allowing visitors to enjoy cultural charms through music. The stage timetable will be announced later!
Sunplaza Nakano-kun & Pappala Kawai
The vocalist and guitarist of Bakufu Slump. They reunited in 2024 for their 40th debut anniversary, releasing new songs and touring. A solo performance at the Nippon Budokan is scheduled for August 11 this year for the first time in 35 years.
Kiriko
A talented Erhu player who started at age 6 and studied at the Central Conservatory of Music on a Chinese government scholarship. She has won top prizes in numerous domestic and international competitions. Appointed as a Youth Exchange Ambassador for the 50th Anniversary of Normalization of Japan-China Relations by former PM Yasuo Fukuda. Her first NY performance this year was a success.
