Medical and dermatological doctor interview media 'Kireirepo' (operated by Cyan Co., Ltd., located in Shinagawa, Tokyo; CEO Takashi Yabumoto) conducted an independent survey on the usage, interests, and selection criteria of beauty clinics, based on published doctor interview articles.
As medical aesthetics becomes more accessible, many users find it difficult to choose treatments and clinics. This study analyzed doctor interview articles and surveyed 100 individuals who have undergone aesthetic procedures to provide a multi-faceted analysis of attitudes toward medical aesthetics.
▼ Survey Overview - Theme: Survey on user needs regarding usage, interests, and clinic selection in medical aesthetics. - Methods: Analysis of doctor interview articles published between 2025 and 2026, and an online survey of experienced users. - Targets: Experienced users (100 people) surveyed in April 2026.
96% Respond 'Skin Affects Mood,' Emphasizing Safety and Consistency In the survey, the #1 procedure experienced was 'energy-based treatments' like lasers and HIFU (58%), followed by 'injectable treatments' like hyaluronic acid and Botox (44%). Purposes included 'spots/pigmentation' (47%), 'sagging' (45%), and 'wrinkles' (39%), showing that non-surgical anti-aging is a daily choice.
When evaluating clinics, 66% prioritized 'safety,' followed by 'effectiveness/longevity' (50%) and 'minimal side effects/downtime' (44%). Respondents voiced concerns such as 'not wanting to fail by choosing based on price alone' and 'prioritizing reliability above all.'
Web searches (71%) were the primary information source, far exceeding SNS (53%). Notably, 88% found 'third-party interview articles' helpful, indicating a high demand for objective, in-depth information over advertisements or subjective reviews.
Non-Surgical Procedures Establish Themselves as Natural Anti-Aging Maintenance The survey showed non-surgical energy and injectable treatments are overwhelmingly popular, focused on aging signs. Many doctors in interviews emphasized pursuing 'natural results' even in nasal or eyelid surgeries. Medical aesthetics is shifting from special events to an extension of daily maintenance for natural beauty, accelerated by the prevalence of minimally invasive treatments.
Meeting the Need for Safety and Effectiveness via Professional Diagnosis and Explanation About 70% of users value 'safety' and 50% value 'effectiveness,' showing a strong desire for 'reliable results with minimized risk.' Some expressed anxiety about 'not being able to judge the best treatment for themselves,' relying on professional medical judgment. Doctors interviewed consistently stressed accurate assessment (diagnosis) and thorough explanation. Since 30% of users value 'thorough doctor explanations,' professional assessments of past treatment history and risks are vital to alleviating user anxiety.
