At "Sunshine 60 Observatory TENBOU-PARK" (Ikebukuro, Tokyo), which operates under the concept of a "Park in the Sky", various astronomical observation events are held throughout the year under the title "TENTAI-PARK" (Astronomical Park).

In fiscal year 2026, we are planning viewing events for various astronomical phenomena, including the "Full Moon Viewing Event" to admire the beautifully shining moon on full moon days, the "Harvest Moon" in September, "Diamond Fuji" in November and January, and the "First Sunrise" on New Year's Day.

With no tall buildings around, visitors can enjoy superb views from 251 meters above sea level and admire famous moons certified as "Japan's 100 Famous Moons (*)". You can also observe seasonal astronomical shows along with the cityscape. During the summer holidays, we will hold workshops using astronomical telescopes, perfect for children's independent study projects. Please come to the astronomical viewing event "TENTAI-PARK", where you can relax and enjoy astronomical observation on "Tenbou no Oka" (Viewing Hill), which is covered with artificial grass so you don't have to worry about the temperature, and savor limited-edition cafe menus themed around astronomical events.

* The "Moon viewed from Sunshine 60 Observatory" has been certified as one of "Japan's 100 Famous Moons" based on certain criteria by the Nightscape Tourism Convention Bureau as a famous moon to be left for future generations.

Sunshine 60 Observatory Astronomical Viewing Event "TENTAI-PARK 2026" Overview At the monthly full moon viewing events, in addition to the experience of viewing the full moon using astronomical telescopes, we will hold events where you can enjoy celestial bodies up close, such as offering a menu inspired by each month's full moon at "TENBOU-PARK CAFE" and holding explanation sessions about celestial bodies.

In addition to the full moon viewing events, we plan to hold seasonal astronomical events, such as a viewing event where you can see the phenomenon "Diamond Fuji"—where the sun overlaps the summit of Mt. Fuji, making it sparkle like a diamond—from the rooftop of the Sunshine 60 Building, and a special opening to view the "First Sunrise". Also, during the summer vacation period, we will conduct workshops useful for independent study where you can assemble an "astronomical telescope" and actually observe celestial bodies. Details will be announced in press releases or on the TENBOU-PARK website from time to time. * Observation may not be possible due to weather or other conditions, and the contents of the events may be changed or canceled.

● About the names of each full moon It is said that Native Americans gave names to the full moon of each month to keep track of the seasons. For example, the full moon in June, when the strawberry harvest reaches its peak, is called the "Strawberry Moon".

◆ Events useful for summer vacation independent research are also popular! During last year's summer vacation, we held a workshop perfect for independent research for elementary school students, where they learned the mechanism of an astronomical telescope while assembling the main body. Last year, tickets sold out immediately, and 30 pairs (60 parents and children) participated! Depending on the weather, you might even be able to actually view the full moon with the astronomical telescopes installed in the facility...! Please check the TENBOU-PARK website for details of this year's workshop.
