View the Full Moon from 251m Above Ground! Sunshine 60 Observatory 'Tentaipark 2026' Annual Schedule Announced

The 'Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbou Park' (Ikebukuro, Tokyo), themed as an 'Air Park,' conducts various astronomical viewing events throughout the year under the title 'Tentaipark.'

For the 2026 fiscal year, the schedule includes 'Full Moon Viewing Parties' to admire the beautifully shining moon, the 'Mid-Autumn Moon' in September, 'Diamond Fuji' (where the sun overlaps the peak of Mt. Fuji) in November and January, and the 'First Sunrise' on New Year's Day.

Visitors can enjoy spectacular views from 251 meters above sea level with no surrounding tall buildings. The observatory is certified as a 'Japan Top 100 Moons' site by the Night View Convention & Visitors Bureau. During summer vacation, workshops for children to assemble telescopes for independent research are held. At the 'Tenbou Hill' covered with artificial grass, visitors can relax and enjoy astronomical observations indoors without worrying about the temperature. Limited cafe menus themed after astronomical phenomena will also be available at the 'Tenbou Park CAFE.'
