Sanix Resource Development Group Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toranomon Kotohira Tower 19F, 1-2-8 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Hideki Takei) is developing a new product, "Solid Fuel REBON," made from organic sludge.
Solid Fuel REBON
According to data released by the Ministry of the Environment on March 27, 2026, titled "Status of Industrial Waste Discharge and Treatment (FY2023 Results)," sludge is the most common industrial waste, with a discharge volume of 158.54 million tons and a discharge ratio of 42.1%.
Amidst this, the Sanix Resource Development Group's Hibiki factory receives approximately 76,175 tons (FY2024) of sludge annually discharged from restaurants and food factories in the Tokai region and westward. Approximately 11,283 tons (FY2024) of organic dehydrated sludge are generated from this sludge treatment process. "Solid Fuel REBON" is produced from a portion of this organic dehydrated sludge, with an anticipated annual production of 900 tons.
Prior to Solid Fuel REBON, Sanix Resource Development Group commercialized and sold "Recycled Oil Bio®," an alternative to heavy oil made from grease trap sludge, in 2018. Currently, they are further refining "Recycled Oil Bio®" and have begun developing raw materials for SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel). Both of these products contribute to carbon neutrality.
Through its business of recycling industrial waste into recycled fuel, Sanix Resource Development Group aims to support corporate initiatives towards a decarbonized society and realize a circular economy.
