TV Anime 'Kagurabachi' Set to Premiere in April 2027!

CyberAgent, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; President: Takahiro Yamauchi) has announced that the TV anime adaptation of Takeru Hokazono's 'Kagurabachi', which is currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump with over 4 million copies in circulation (as of May 1), will begin broadcasting in April 2027. This project is co-produced with Shochiku Co., Ltd.

The animation will be handled by Cypic (known for 'Uma Musume Cinderella Gray' and 'The Summer Hikaru Died'), an animation studio within the CyberAgent group. The staff features elite creators including director Tetsuya Takeuchi (Action Director for 'Sword Art Online II', Battle Storyboard/Director/Animation Director for 'Heavenly Delusion') and Character Designer Keigo Sasaki (Character Designer for 'Blue Exorcist' and 'The Seven Deadly Sins').

Additionally, Taishi Kimura, winner of the 2025 Seiyu Awards Newcomer Award, has been cast as the protagonist, Chihiro Rokuhira.

The story follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a boy aspiring to be a swordsmith. After the peace he knew is shattered by a mysterious sorcerer organization called the 'Hishaku', he embarks on a path of revenge in a world swirled with darkness to reclaim six 'Enchanted Blades' that threaten the nation.

With the seventh Enchanted Blade 'Enten' left by his father, the boy transforms his hatred into a flame of determination. Cypic, the studio known for delivering numerous works with uncompromising quality, will bring this long-awaited anime to life with overwhelming visual expression.

In conjunction with the anime announcement, the teaser visual and teaser PV have been released for the first time. Celebration illustrations and comments from the original creator, Takeru Hokazono, have also arrived.

Comments from Director Tetsuya Takeuchi, Character Designer Keigo Sasaki, and Taishi Kimura (Chihiro Rokuhira) have been published as well.

Furthermore, a World Tour featuring screenings of the first 20 minutes of Episode 1 has been decided. Starting in Summer 2026, the first 20 minutes will be shown at anime events around the world. The tour will conclude with a Grand Final in Japan, featuring special guests and a world-first screening of the full first episode. Details will be announced later.
