Kenbill Co., Ltd. (Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Representative: Kimimasa Maruta) will conclude the project "Slay the Spire - Downfall Board Game Japanese Edition" on the crowdfunding service "CAMPFIRE" today, June 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

As the campaign nears its end, last-minute support has surged, with the total funding exceeding 190 million yen. This marks the highest amount ever for a board game-related crowdfunding project by individuals or organizations in Japan.

"Exclusive Supporter Items," which will be included for all campaign backers, are expected to have very limited availability thereafter. Kenbill is urging supporters to contribute before the deadline.

This project aims to publish the Japanese edition of the expansion set "Downfall" for "Slay the Spire: The Board Game," which has surpassed 200 million yen in domestic series sales, thereby meeting fan expectations and further expanding the board game market.

Crowdfunding Content

"Slay the Spire: The Board Game" (hereinafter referred to as the "base set") is a board game based on the popular digital game "Slay the Spire" (available on Steam/Nintendo Switch, etc.). It has garnered strong support from both domestic digital game and board game fans, with series sales in Japan exceeding 200 million yen.

This time, as an expansion set, the popular "Downfall" mod from the original digital game has been adapted into a board game. Players can enjoy a reverse perspective, controlling the boss enemies from the base set – "Slime Boss," "Guardian," and "Hexaghost" – as they descend the Spire. Conversely, the characters from the base set – "Ironclad," "Silent," "Defect," and "Watcher" – now act as the bosses.

Purpose of Crowdfunding

The funds raised will be used for royalties based on discussions with the overseas licensor, manufacturing costs, translation expenses for the Japanese edition, and shipping costs. As board games are highly language-dependent, the goal is to make the game enjoyable for a wider audience by releasing it in Japanese.

To meet the diverse needs of supporters, six different plans have been prepared. Some plans include the Collector's Edition of the base set, which had previously sold out.
