Growing Co., Ltd., based in Tennoji-ku, Osaka, announced that Japanese watch brand MONOGRIIS will begin advance sales of RESTA, its first Japanese-made mechanical watch following the brand’s renewal, on the crowdfunding platform Makuake from May 11, 2026. RESTA is the first model symbolizing MONOGRIIS’s new beginning. The watch features a genderless 36mm case designed to fit naturally into everyday life, along with a distinctive case shape and carefully crafted hands. Its domed sapphire crystal creates rich visual expressions depending on the angle of light, while the compact 36mm case adds subtle individuality to daily style with an elegant presence. The dial uses three-dimensional processing only for the gold dots. Its minimalist composition, with an emphasis on negative space, highlights the curved beauty of the domed glass and gives the watch a vintage character. It is a piece with a quiet yet definite presence. The watch uses domed sapphire crystal, often regarded as a hallmark of luxury watches, for the front glass. It combines graceful curves with outstanding scratch resistance, maintaining its beautiful shine over time. Sapphire crystal is also used on the case back, allowing wearers to enjoy the delicate movement of the mechanical caliber. One of the most distinctive features is the classical yet playful lollipop-style hour hand. In the watch industry, this type of hand is also known as a Pontiff hand. The name refers to both a lollipop candy and the staff held by high-ranking clergy. It is a timeless design often seen in antique watches from the 1950s. The name RESTA carries the meaning of “a restart and the beginning of a new day,” which is why the watch adopts this sun-inspired lollipop hand. At the heart of RESTA is the Japanese-made CITIZEN MIYOTA mechanical movement Cal.8N40. Its automatic winding mechanism winds the mainspring through wrist movement and provides approximately 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound, offering the distinctive beat of a mechanical watch. The strap uses Saffiano leather, a cowhide embossed with fine crosshatch patterns. Its surface is treated with resin and wax, giving it durability, water resistance, and lightness. The fine textured embossing makes scratches and dirt less noticeable, making it suitable for daily use. Its firm texture and refined sheen create an urban, sophisticated sense of luxury on the wrist. RESTA also represents MONOGRIIS’s philosophy of creating “a watch that will be loved for a long time.” MONOGRIIS was founded in Osaka in 2018. Initially, the brand focused on watches as fashion items, offering casual and distinctive designs. As times changed, the company reconsidered what a wristwatch should be and decided to rebuild the brand, shifting toward Japanese-made mechanical watches that pursue lasting value. The models introduced this time include a black dial with a Saffiano leather strap and an ivory dial with a Saffiano leather strap. The planned regular retail price is 46,200 yen including tax. Advance reservations with special benefits will begin on Makuake from May 11, 2026. Regular sales are scheduled for early July 2026.
