"Delicious Memories Karuta" Full Card Gallery Key Visual

"Delicious Memories Karuta" is a karuta game created from the "Delicious Memories Karuta Campaign" implemented in the summer of 2025. It was produced as a prize for a campaign aimed at conveying Kikkoman's corporate slogan, "We want to create delicious memories," and fostering a space for communication among customers through their "delicious memories." While the completed "Delicious Memories Karuta" was delivered to winners in March 2026, all 45 cards that became karuta are now being released as the "Delicious Memories Karuta Full Card Gallery" on the brand website "Delicious Memories." Cloud Box Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Musashino City, Tokyo; Representative Director: Ken Tokunaga; hereinafter, Cloud Box) was in charge of production.

Kikkoman's brand website "Delicious Memories" spearheaded the creation of a user communication space, actualized through karuta.

Cloud Box was responsible for the overall production and direction of the "Delicious Memories" brand website, which was renewed in 2024. Based on Kikkoman's corporate slogan "We want to create delicious memories," they have accumulated numerous contents and have continued to be involved in campaign planning and operational support after the renewal to make it more accessible and enjoyable for a wider audience.

This "Delicious Memories Karuta" was created with the theme of user communication through "karuta making," leveraging the knowledge gained from the Good Design Award-winning "Kichijoji Karuta" on community activation. It aims to create a space where Kikkoman and its users can empathize through "delicious memories."

Comment from Creative Director & Karuta Producer Ken Tokunaga:

"Delicious" is a universal language. Empathizing with the idea that "sharing it leads to sharing happiness and empowering each other's lives," I directed the renewal of Kikkoman's brand website "Delicious Memories" in 2024. As I continued to be involved in the operation of the brand website, my desire to "create a space that connects users' 'delicious memories'" grew even stronger. Karuta has a very powerful ability to connect people and share feelings. Although the campaign has ended, I wanted to preserve a place where many "delicious memories" could be shared, and so we have decided to open the "Delicious Memories Karuta Full Card Gallery" as a permanent content.

How "Delicious Memories Karuta" was Made

It began with the desire for the corporate slogan "We want to create delicious memories." We thought it would be a perfect project for the "Delicious Memories" brand website if we could collect "delicious memories" that everyone holds somewhere in their hearts from all over Japan and create and share a karuta game that every Japanese person knows.

Grand recruitment for "Delicious Memories" nationwide!
From June to August 2025, the "Delicious Memories Karuta Campaign" was conducted online for approximately three months. Many episodes of "delicious memories," such as precious memories related to food and unforgettable tastes, were submitted from all over the country.

Karuta production started!
From the many submitted works, 45 pieces were selected to become actual karuta cards. Each episode contained irreplaceable "delicious memories," and some judges who went through all the works were moved to tears. It became a wonderful time for communication between Kikkoman and all applicants.

"Everyone's Yomi-fuda Gallery" (reading cards gallery) released
In July, "Everyone's Yomi-fuda Gallery," where submitted works can be viewed, was released. In addition to being able to see many works as "yomi-fuda," it is also a gallery where each episode can be read (currently open to the public).

Characterful "E-fuda" (picture cards) and heartfelt "Yomi-fuda" (reading cards) completed
Illustrator Tomoko Koyama created the "e-fuda" for 45 works, and Cloud Box was responsible for the editing and design of the packaging and cards. Each "delicious memory" episode was placed on the back of the "yomi-fuda," resulting in a "Delicious Memories Karuta" with compelling content.

In March 2025, 300 campaign applicants were randomly selected and received the completed "Delicious Memories Karuta" along with Kikkoman products as prizes.
