Kyosuke Tchinai (b. 1948, Imabari, Ehime) completed his graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. He settled in Warabi City, Saitama, upon moving to Tokyo for university, and became Chairman of the Warabi City Cultural Association in 2014.
His unique technique using acrylic paint on washi paper and his fantastical works featuring traditional Japanese costumes and nature motifs have received high acclaim both in Japan and internationally. His works are held in museums and by prominent collectors, including former pro tennis player Roger Federer and the Rothschild family, one of Europe's leading collectors. In December 2024, he established the Kyosuke Tchinai Foundation and is actively participating in regional development, including concluding partnership agreements with Imabari City and Imabari Meitoku Junior College.
About Galerie Tamenaga
Founded in Ginza in 1969, Galerie Tamenaga has been handling art from Impressionism to contemporary art, introducing masterpieces to museums and collectors worldwide for half a century. The gallery opened locations in Paris and Osaka in 1971, and Kyoto in 2021. In September 2025, it relocated from Ginza to its new location on Kotto-dori in Minami-Aoyama, tripling its exhibition space to serve as a new art hub.
Currently, the gallery showcases works by artists from all over the world, not just Europe, and is playing a significant role in the art industry, with an increasing focus on presenting works by Japanese artists.
