Who is eligible for the essay contest?

Elementary school students nationwide from Grades 1 to 6. There are two categories: Lower Grades (1–3) and Upper Grades (4–6).

What is the submission deadline?

Submissions are accepted from July 21 to September 20, 2026. Postmark valid, so mailed entries must be postmarked by the closing date.

The Grand Prize is a 20,000 yen book card, Excellent Prize is 10,000 yen, and Selected Prize winners receive a 1,000 yen book card.

How do I submit my entry?

Write your essay on 1–5 sheets of 400-character manuscript paper, clearly write your details on the back, and mail it to the designated address.

Career Power Co., Ltd. will host the 6th 'Joy of Working' Essay Contest for elementary school students nationwide from July 21, 2026. Children are invited to express their thoughts on work and future aspirations, with the top winner receiving a 20,000 yen book card.

We are calling for essay submissions from elementary school students across Japan on the theme of 'the joy of working.' What do you want to be in the future? How would you like to work? What thoughts come to mind when you think about 'working'? Feel free to write about anything. Please express your own ideas in your own words.
