Kitchhike Inc. (Headquarters: Assabu-cho, Hokkaido; Representative: Masaya Yamamoto) has begun recruiting participants for 'Oshima Marugoto Hakken-tai', a 2-night 3-day exploration tour for elementary school students and their parents, limited to summer vacation, on Oshima Island in Munakata City, Fukuoka.

This program is an all-inclusive tour packaging accommodation, meals, and experiences. By adopting an 'exploration education' approach where children themselves become the main players and proactively unravel the 'secrets' hidden in the daily life of the island, the tour is designed so that the results of their exploration become a completed summer research project by the end of the trip.

'What to do for summer research?' - Turn it into a fun family trip.

Summer vacation is a precious opportunity for children to break free from school schedules and pursue their own 'why?' and 'I want to know!' On the other hand, many families struggle with choosing a theme for summer research and how to proceed, often becoming a burden for parents.

Therefore, we planned 'Oshima Marugoto Hakken-tai', a parent-child program on the remote island of Oshima in Munakata City, Fukuoka, where the journey itself becomes learning and the experience takes shape as summer research. We propose a new way to spend summer vacation, enjoying the island life with family while gaining both learning and rest.

Five features of 'Oshima Marugoto Hakken-tai':

① An exploration education program that nurtures children's 'why?' Record discoveries and questions encountered on the island with a checky camera and a dedicated notebook 'Hakken-zukan'. With support from islanders and staff, children cultivate the ability to ask questions, think, and learn on their own.

② The results of the trip directly become summer research Complete 'Oshima Marugoto Hakken-zukan', a book filled with memories and learning from the 3-day trip, usable as summer research.

③ 'Munakata Gastronomy Dinner': Enjoy fish you caught yourself for dinner that evening Taste the red sea bream you caught yourself for dinner that evening. Experience the blessings of the sea and the connection of life through the 'Munakata Gastronomy Dinner', accompanied by local ingredients and traditional cuisine.

④ Limited to 2 families per session for a special experience A dense 2-night 3-day exploration experience possible only with small groups. Natural interactions between children and between parents also arise.

⑤ All-inclusive: accommodation, meals, and experiences included Accommodation, meals, and experience programs are packaged. Enjoy your stay on Oshima Island with your family without the hassle of individual arrangements. *Only lunch on the 1st and 2nd days will be settled locally.

Choose from two stay styles:

You can choose from two accommodation bases. A shared use plan for two families is also available.

[Base B: Guest House TOKAIYA (community-based, private rental)] Located in the center of the port town, a guest house where lively interaction with islanders and other families naturally occurs. Recommended for families who want to enjoy island life and interaction with people.
