Caricarina Launches 'coppo2026', a Summer-Limited Cat Scratching Sofa Co-Created with Welfare Facility 'Kai'

"coppo" is one of Caricarina's popular series, a summer-exclusive cat scratching sofa decorated with cooling tiles.
For the 2026 model, three tile designs were adopted from over 100 proposals submitted by the users of "Kai" (Tateyama City, Chiba), a continuous employment support B-type facility. The tiles are applied one by one by hand, resulting in a visually refreshing and uniquely special finish.

"coppo" is a summer-limited model combining cooling tiles so that cats can spend hot seasons comfortably.

While maintaining the gentle curve shape based on Caricarina's proprietary "Nyan Engineering," the tile section creates a cool, soothing sensation. Designed to make cats naturally want to rest their bodies, it can be used not only as a scratcher but also as a sofa.

Additionally, the main body uses high-strength "super" reinforced corrugated cardboard, which is also used for export packaging. It is characterized by producing less debris and being durable and long-lasting.

Three Limited Designs Selected from Over 100 Proposals

Users of the continuous employment support B-type facility "Kai," who regularly assist in the production of Caricarina products, participated in the tile design creation for coppo2026.

This year, three designs were selected from over 100 ideas born from free thinking.
While each has a distinct expression, they have been finished into designs that combine summer freshness with interior decor appeal.

Furthermore, the tile application process is done manually piece by piece, adding a warmth and individuality not found in mass-produced items.
