Resort Club Ise-Shima Introduces 'Playful Education' Stay for Family Summer Vacations

Resort Club Ise-Shima (Shima City, Mie Prefecture), operated by M&M Service Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture; President: Satoru Koike), has newly established an inclusive outdoor play area in collaboration with BorneLund Co., Ltd., under the theme of 'Yuiiku' (playful education), designed for children of all abilities to enjoy together.

On June 6, 2026, an experiential preview event was held for stakeholders. Attendees observed children actively playing on the equipment, listened to BorneLund representatives explain the design concept, and learned about the resort’s vision for 'Yuiiku'—transforming family stays from mere accommodation into meaningful growth experiences.

Why Resort Club Ise-Shima is embracing 'Yuiiku'

With the aim of making the resort more than just a place to sleep—but a space that supports children’s development and creates lasting family memories—Resort Club Ise-Shima has introduced this new outdoor play area.

The resort believes that the time families spend watching their children run freely in nature, playing together and sharing joy, is in itself a valuable part of the travel experience.

An inclusive play space focused on safety, comfort, and environmental harmony

The new play area, developed with BorneLund Co., Ltd., is located in a scenic natural setting overlooking Toba Bay. It features five play structures, including swings, seesaws, and a bouldering wall, designed to be accessible and enjoyable for children of all abilities.

Inclusive play equipment allows children to stand, sit, lie down, or play together in groups, accommodating individual preferences and physical needs.

Highlights include a scenic swing facing Toba Bay and a seesaw made from recycled ocean plastic, reflecting thoughtful integration with the landscape and environmental sustainability. Soft sand surfaces beneath each play structure help cushion falls, while surrounding fences enhance safety.

Preview event highlights

On the day of the preview, around 30 children, mostly elementary school students, played freely, filling the area with energy and laughter. Parents shared positive feedback:
