OVERALL JACKET 91-J 1947 MODEL
Also known as "Housemark Label" and "Long L Button"
Born in 1921, the "91-J" is one of Lee's signature workwear items, developed to be worn with overalls.
Except for the WWII period, it had already achieved its perfected design in the 1930s, a design that continues to this day.
It became widely known by the nickname "LOCO JACKET (Locomotive Jacket)" as it was favored by many locomotive engineers with the development of the American railway network before the war.
The 1947 model being reproduced faithfully recreates the details of its perfected form. Functional beauty born from actual work sites is reproduced in every detail, including an inner pocket for storing railway timetables, a left chest pocket for efficiently storing pocket watches and pens, and slanted hand pockets designed for easy access to tools.
The fabric used is "JELT DENIM," developed by Lee in 1925. This is a symbolic fabric of Lee that has garnered strong support from many workers.
The collar features a reproduction of the "Housemark" label used in the 1930s and 40s. This woven name, with the "e" in the logo rendered in italics, disappeared after the year this model was adopted, making it a coveted detail for vintage enthusiasts.

- Sizes (inches): 36/38/40/42/44/46/48/50

WAIST BAND OVERALLS 11-W 1949 MODEL
Also known as "Housemark Label" and "Paper Label with Lot Number and Size Notation"
At the time, many pants, including the 101 series, were classified under common names and assigned lot numbers based on fabric and specifications. Among these, the "11-W" was a model with a ruler pocket using Lee's proprietary JELT DENIM. The "W" in the model number means "WAIST."
The 1949 model being reproduced faithfully recreates the design philosophy of practical workwear. A vertical tool pocket for storing tools such as monkey wrenches and rulers is placed on the right thigh, and the hammer loop is omitted, resulting in a refined silhouette with reduced waste.
The front features a button fly. Details from the era are reproduced down to the finest points, including the "Long L" engraved button for the top button and Lee engraved donut buttons for the others. The large back pockets are reinforced with bar tacks, embodying the durability and functionality required of workwear.
The Housemark label on the waistband uses the earliest specification where the "e" in the Lee logo was switched to the current serif font. This detail, symbolizing the brand's evolution, represents the era of this model.
- Price: 33,000 yen (tax included)
- Sizes (inches): 28/29/30/31/32/33/34/36/
- Lot: LM6111-89

Lee Brand Overview
Founded in 1889 by Henry David Lee as H.D. Lee Mercantile Company, a wholesale grocer and general store.
In 1911, it began in-house manufacturing of workwear, starting with bib overalls made of 8oz denim.
Subsequently, it revolutionized the jeans industry by creating numerous masterpieces such as the cowboy pants known by the nickname "101" and the "Westerner," a pioneer of white jeans.
While still rooted in workwear for cowboys and others, Lee currently proposes modern denim based on functionality and ruggedness. It continues to evolve with the times.
