Survey Results 3: Approximately 21% Gained "Confidence" After Participation

Mentions related to confidence such as "gained confidence": 3,277 cases (20.6%)

"Had fun / became fun": 1,995 cases (12.5%)

Satisfaction with instruction, such as "kind, thorough, calm": 7,059 cases (44.3%)

The background to 44.3% of participants mentioning the instructor's "kindness and thoroughness" is thought to be the trauma of strict instruction from family in the past, or experiences of being intimidated by instruction at driving schools, contributing to the long-term gap.

Survey Results 4: Purpose for Wanting to Resume Driving

Text analysis of "purpose/trigger for wanting to resume driving" from the participant questionnaire resulted in the following ranking.

1st Place: Mastering garage parking and parking 3,839 cases (24.1%)

* "Anxious about home parking," "Cannot park in supermarket parking lots," etc.

2nd Place: Wanting to be able to drive on expressways 1,272 cases (8.0%)

* "Want to use expressways for family trips," "Increased long-distance errands," etc.

3rd Place: Driving children to school/activities 759 cases (4.8%)

* "Need to drive children to kindergarten/nursery school," "Driving to extracurricular activities," etc.

4th Place: Shopping and daily life 510 cases (3.2%)

* "Shopping at supermarkets," "Daily outings by car," etc.

5th Place: Driving and travel 321 cases (2.0%)

* "Want to go on drives/trips with family," etc.

6th Place: Work and commuting 299 cases (1.9%)

* "Needed to drive for a new job," "Using a company car for sales," etc.

* Many people have multiple purposes, and the number of mentions in their comments was counted.

The reason "garage parking and parking" is the most frequent indicates that many people can reach their destinations by public transport but are afraid to use their cars solely due to parking concerns.

Furthermore, the high demand for expressway driving shows the reality that positive motivations such as wanting to travel long distances or go on trips by private car are driving the resumption of driving.

Survey Results 5: Reasons for Choosing WinCreate

Text analysis of "why WinCreate was chosen" from the participant questionnaire revealed the following trends.

1st Place: On-site service / Practice around home 540 cases (3.4%)

"Applied after learning I could practice on roads around my home."

"The fact that they start from in front of my house was the deciding factor."

2nd Place: Practice with one's own car / private car 446 cases (2.8%)

"It was good to be able to practice in my own car that I usually drive."

"I thought I could immediately apply it to daily life because I could practice in my own car."

3rd Place: Referral from acquaintances/friends 397 cases (2.5%)

"Recommended by a friend," "An acquaintance who took the course before said it was good."

4th Place: Word-of-mouth / Internet search 144 cases (0.9%)

"Researched online and the reviews were good," "Decided based on reputation."

5th Place: Request for female instructor 90 cases (0.6%)

"Felt reassured knowing I could request a female instructor."

6th Place: Peace of mind with auxiliary brakes 87 cases (0.5%)

"Knowing there were auxiliary brakes helped me make the decision to sign up, which I was afraid to do."

* Since these are counts of spontaneously mentioned comments, the actual reasons for choosing are presumed to be even more numerous.

The top two reasons, "on-site service" and "practice with one's own car," both refer to the inherent strengths of the on-demand service, which is "practicing with one's own car on actual roads."

This supports the reality that paper drivers are struggling with the "gap between driving school courses and real-life situations."

Discussion: The Paper Driver Problem is a "Mobility Challenge for Japan's Child-Rearing and Caregiving Generations"

This survey reveals that the paper driver issue is not merely an individual skill problem, but a structural mobility challenge facing Japanese society.

Many women in their 30s and 40s, who make up about 59% of participants, are coming for lessons due to changes in their life circumstances such as:

"Needing to drive children to school."

"Needing a car for elderly parent care."

"No longer being able to rely on my husband."

Furthermore, the fact that 44.3% of participants mention the instructor's "kindness and thoroughness" indicates the reality that past experiences of strict instruction contribute to long-term gaps.

Additionally, the top two reasons for choosing WinCreate, "on-site service/practice around home" and "practice with one's own car," suggest that participants have a sense of dissatisfaction with existing services, such as "practice at a driving school is not useful on actual roads."

Representative's Comment

Yasu Furukawa, President and Representative Director of WinCreate Inc.

"Having interacted with over 75,000 participants over 27 years, I've learned that most paper drivers aren't 'bad at driving,' but simply 'haven't had the opportunity to practice in the right environment.'

What's particularly impressive are the cases of women in their 30s and 40s who resolve to come for lessons 'for their children.'

Even with an average gap of over 14 years, almost all of them regain their confidence in driving by practicing step-by-step on actual roads.

Also, the fact that the #1 reason for being chosen was 'on-site service/practice around home' shows that our philosophy of 'practicing on roads you actually use,' which we've cherished for 27 years, is correctly reaching our customers.

As the 16,000 cases show, the fact that 13% felt 'enjoyment' and 21% felt 'confidence' after participation are figures we are most proud of."
