Astier de Villatte Announces New Stationery Collaboration with Film Director Wes Anderson

Astier de Villatte, a unique lifestyle brand that inherits 18th-century Parisian craftsmanship and reinterprets it for the modern era, is launching a letter paper notepad inspired by the cinematic world of film director Wes Anderson.

The delicate scented letters from Madame D in "The Grand Budapest Hotel," or the secret notes exchanged between young lovers in "Moonrise Kingdom"—stationery has long served as a quiet yet pivotal narrative device in Wes Anderson’s films.

This notepad, featuring eight iconic works by Wes Anderson, was created through a creative collaboration between Astier de Villatte’s letterpress printing atelier, their artist edition label "We Do Not Work Alone," and Wes Anderson himself.

This special item will be available in Japan starting Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Astier de Villatte’s flagship stores and official online site.

Benoît Astier de Villatte and Ivan Pericoli founded Astier de Villatte in 1996 alongside family members and friends from École des Beaux-Arts (Paris National School of Fine Arts). Their creations draw inspiration from decorative arts, popular aesthetics, and the history of forgotten objects. Upholding the tradition of 18th-century Parisian pottery workshops, they revive the "estampage" decorative technique to craft one-of-a-kind ceramics. Additionally, they own France’s last (and one of the world’s rarest remaining) letterpress printing studios, producing beautifully crafted books and stationery using lead type.
