Intrust, Nikko City, and Tokio Marine Nichido Launch New Child Support Collection Support Initiative: 'Child Support Guarantee' for Local Governments

Intrust Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yutaka Kuwahara; hereinafter "Intrust"), announced that the child support guarantee model for local governments, which it had been developing with Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroaki Shirota; hereinafter "Tokio Marine Nichido"), has been adopted by Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture (Mayor: Tetsuo Setaka; hereinafter "Nikko City") and commenced operation on April 1, 2026. This marks the first introduction in Tochigi Prefecture.

1. Background of Service Provision

Intrust, a comprehensive guarantee service provider, was the first in Japan to offer a child support guarantee service, drawing attention from single-parent households, support organizations, and local governments. To further promote collaboration with local governments and explore effective support for single-parent households, Intrust has concluded an "Agreement on Child Support Collection Support Project" with Nikko City. This initiative contributes to realizing a system that ensures more single-parent families reliably receive child support.

2. About 'Child Support Guarantee'

'Child Support Guarantee,' utilized by Nikko City, is a product scheme for local governments where Intrust enters into individual guarantee contracts with single-parent households residing in Nikko City. Nikko City bears the guarantee fee for the first year and handles guidance and application acceptance for eligible individuals.

In the event of a delay in child support payments, Intrust directly advances the payment to the child support recipient and then demands and collects from the child support payer. Uncollected advanced payments are claimed as insurance from Tokio Marine Nichido (Tokio Marine Nichido pays a certain percentage of Intrust's losses as insurance). Even after the one-year guarantee period, if the child support recipient wishes to continue using this guarantee, they can do so by bearing the renewal guarantee fee themselves.

Commenced on April 1, 2026.

4. Future Outlook

The impact of this matter on the financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2027 is expected to be minor. However, we believe this initiative will contribute to building new expertise over the long term and enhance corporate value.
