Intellect Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Naomiki Kanemaru; hereinafter "the Company") is participating as an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor in the solar power plant construction project promoted by Nishitetsu Natural Energy LLC (hereinafter "Nishitetsu Natural Energy") in the area surrounding Kumamoto Airport.
On July 3, 2026, a groundbreaking safety prayer ceremony was held on-site, marking the official start of construction.
This project is part of the renewable energy deployment initiative related to the "Creation of the Aso-Kumamoto Airport Surrounding Area RE100 Industrial Zone," designated by Japan's Ministry of the Environment as a decarbonization pilot region.
As the EPC contractor responsible for the design, procurement, and construction of the solar power plant, the Company will strictly enforce safety, quality, and schedule management to contribute to regional decarbonization and the local production and consumption of renewable energy. Additionally, an 'Eco Site Office' will be established, where nearly all electricity used in the site office will be supplied by reused solar panels and battery storage systems, enabling on-site operations powered by renewable energy. Through these initiatives, the Company will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
About the Safety Prayer Ceremony
To mark the commencement of construction, a safety prayer ceremony was held on-site on July 3, 2026.
Representatives from Kumamoto Prefecture, Nishitetsu Natural Energy, the Company, and other project-related parties attended to pray for the safety and smooth progress of the construction.
The Company's Unique Initiative: Establishment of the 'Eco Site Office'
As part of its environmental considerations, the Company will set up the site office as an 'Eco Site Office' for this project. The Eco Site Office will utilize reused solar panels and battery storage to supply nearly all of the electricity required for office operations through renewable energy. The Company will also implement energy visualization and monitor electricity consumption.
Furthermore, to reduce environmental impact in site operations, the Company will introduce LED lighting and solar-powered security cameras, install green curtains to reduce solar heat gain, and set up waste sorting stations for construction waste and packaging materials generated on-site.
The Company's Role and Future Outlook
Through the operation of the Eco Site Office in this project, the Company will practice environmentally considerate site management and aim to expand this model as a new benchmark for future renewable energy projects.
Additionally, leveraging its expertise accumulated in the renewable energy sector, the Company will prioritize safety, ensure quality and schedule adherence, and continue to reduce environmental impact throughout the construction process, contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
