To commemorate the launch of the 'Hiroshima Everyone Eco-Action! Campaign' by Hiroshima Prefecture, an experiential event titled 'Hiroshima Everyone Eco-Action! PR Event' was held from June 20 (Sat) for two days at the first-floor concourse (event space) in front of the ticket gates at JR Hiroshima Station North Exit (Shinkansen Exit). On the first day, June 20 (Sat), a special stage event was held featuring Koichi Morisaki, Ambassador of Sanfrecce Hiroshima, as a guest.
Hiroshima Prefecture's new eco-campaign begins: 'Smart Savings through Eco-Friendly Living!'
With the new designation of 'extreme heat days' for temperatures exceeding 40°C, this summer is expected to be hotter than usual, raising concerns over rising electricity costs. To achieve a 'net-zero carbon society' by 2050, Hiroshima Prefecture has launched the 'Hiroshima Everyone Eco-Action! Campaign' on Friday, June 5, 2026—'Environmental Day'—utilizing the web app 'Moact' to encourage and establish energy-saving and decarbonization practices in households.
This campaign uses the 'Uchi-Eco Diagnosis Web Service' to visualize household energy consumption and reduction effects. Participants complete missions such as daily eco-actions or replacing appliances with energy-efficient models. Points are awarded based on mission completion, creating a fun and sustainable way to engage in energy-saving and decarbonization efforts. Accumulated points can be exchanged for Amazon gift cards, Rakuten Edy, V Points, and more, making this an initiative that benefits both household budgets and the environment.
To celebrate the campaign launch, an experiential event was held at JR Hiroshima Station on June 20 (Sat) and 21 (Sun). With humidity rising and the air conditioning season approaching, the event introduced practical energy-saving measures such as optimizing air conditioner temperature settings. Visitors also experienced the web app 'Moact' and enjoyed new, fun ways to engage in eco-friendly activities.
On June 20 (Sat), the first day of the event, special guest Koichi Morisaki, Ambassador of Sanfrecce Hiroshima, participated in an eco-themed talk show. The venue featured various interactive booths, including a hands-on experience with the 'Uchi-Eco Diagnosis' service that visualizes household utility costs and energy savings, and the 'Eco-Action Board,' where residents could declare their personal eco-commitments.

Legendary Hiroshima figure Koichi Morisaki takes the stage!
During the talk event, themed 'Smartly Overcoming the Harsh Summer with Hiroshima’s 'Cost-Effective Eco' Together,' Morisaki shared 'three essential smart strategies' for getting through the summer wisely—benefiting household budgets, the planet, and maintaining peak physical condition even in extreme heat.
Special guest Koichi Morisaki, a Hiroshima legend and current Ambassador of Sanfrecce Hiroshima, took the stage.
When asked about his daily eco-friendly habits, Morisaki said, 'The biggest change was switching to an electric vehicle. I also consistently turn off lights and avoid wasting water. Our team also uses solar power and operates buses fueled by biofuel, among other initiatives.' He shared his personal and team-wide environmental conservation efforts. Morisaki also serves as a 'J.League Climate Action Ambassador,' acting as a figurehead for climate and environmental initiatives. When asked about his activities, he replied, 'I set aside time to study climate issues with children. In the future, I’d like to visit elementary schools and act as a teacher educating kids about climate change,' highlighting his role in expanding eco-awareness.
When asked about summer tips that are 'wallet-friendly' and directly benefit household budgets, he revealed his home energy-saving practices: 'First, saving electricity. In my family, whoever notices it turns off the lights or stops water from running unnecessarily. We do this consistently.'
Concluding 10 years as Sanfrecce Hiroshima Ambassador, Morisaki looks toward new challenges
With only 10 days remaining in his role as Sanfrecce Hiroshima Ambassador, Morisaki said, 'Since 2017, the year after my retirement, I’ve served as the club’s first ambassador for 10 years. While it was a difficult decision, I want to apply the experience I’ve gained and also take on new personal challenges.' He revealed his determination to conclude this chapter to pursue further growth.
Morisaki shares pro-athlete tips for maintaining summer wellness
Considering that overexertion for the sake of saving energy or money could harm health, the latter half of the talk focused on 'maintaining summer condition.' When asked about tips for getting through the hot season energetically, he said, 'Getting enough sleep. As a player, I slept 8 to 10 hours. Above all, I prioritized quality sleep. Also, appetite tends to drop in summer, so I make sure to eat balanced meals. I also replenish food and water frequently.' He emphasized the importance of 'diet' and 'sleep,' practices he maintained rigorously during his playing days.
Morisaki takes on a special mission—posting his own 'Eco-Actions' on the board
Midway through the event, alongside an introduction to the behavior-promoting web app 'Moact,' Morisaki performed a special action. Holding sticky notes with his personal eco-actions written on them, he announced five eco-actions: growing plants, using a personal water bottle, cycling, saving electricity, and adopting an electric vehicle. He then posted them on the Eco-Action Board. Notably, he said, 'I’d like to contribute to the environment by growing plants on my balcony or in the garden,' showing his positive attitude toward eco-actions.
Finally, he concluded the talk show by saying, 'I’d like to continue learning about eco-friendly knowledge in daily life and share it as a J.League Climate Action Ambassador to contribute to the environment,' calling on others to join in eco-actions.
