Shooting within the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Fine Arts. In-house use is limited to official plans.

Ants Photography Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Noritomo Satomi) has launched the "Museum Official Wedding Photo Plan," which uses the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Fine Arts (Marunouchi, Tokyo) as its venue.

In recent years, while the number of couples choosing not to have a wedding ceremony ("nashi-kon") is increasing, the photo wedding market continues to expand. According to a survey by Wedding Park Inc., the implementation rate of photo weddings and pre-wedding shoots has reached 74.4%, with an estimated market size exceeding 100 billion yen.

In recent years, the value of preserving life's milestones in photographs in one's own way has been spreading, regardless of whether a wedding ceremony is held.

This project offers a new opportunity to capture precious moments for the future by using the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Fine Arts' unique red brick architecture and charming interior spaces as a backdrop. We deliver a special shooting experience that accompanies each individual's life within the historical and cultural landscape of Marunouchi.

This is the first time the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Fine Arts has officially permitted the use of its premises for photo wedding shoots. Shooting within the museum is not permitted outside of this plan, and it is offered as an officially approved wedding photo plan for use within the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Fine Arts.

We propose preserving wedding photos not merely as records, but as works of art that color life, utilizing the spatial beauty unique to this restored architecture.

Why Photo Weddings at a Museum Now?

In recent years, wedding ceremony formats have diversified, with an increasing number of couples opting for "nashi-kon" or small-scale ceremonies. Meanwhile, demand for photo weddings continues to grow, and the need to "preserve life's milestones in photographs" is increasing.

Ants Photography Inc., having been involved in hotel wedding photography for many years, believes that wedding photos are not just records, but a culture that enriches life.

In this initiative, we offer a new photo wedding experience where architecture, art, and life's milestones intersect, using the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Fine Arts' distinctive red brick architecture and charming interior spaces as the venue.

Furthermore, this project is a new attempt to utilize a cultural facility like a museum as a place to preserve important memories of life. Through experiences in a special space surrounded by art and architecture, we aim to provide an opportunity to experience the new charm of the museum.

About the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Fine Arts

Original Mitsubishi Ichigokan completed in 1894 (Meiji 27) / Mitsubishi Ichigokan restored and completed in 2009 (Heisei 21)

The Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Fine Arts, located in Marunouchi, Tokyo, is a red brick building that is a restoration of the "Mitsubishi Ichigokan" built in 1894. The design was handled by Josiah Conder, a British architect known as the father of modern Japanese architecture. The current building faithfully reproduces the appearance of the original structure as much as possible, based on original blueprints, photographs, and preserved materials.

Since its opening in 2010, it has hosted special exhibitions focusing on modern art from the late 19th to early 20th centuries, welcoming many visitors.

Despite being in the city center, a quiet and solemn atmosphere flows within the museum, with spaces where history and art harmonize, including the red brick exterior, stone staircases, and a courtyard filled with natural light.

In the "Museum Official Wedding Photo Plan," we will record the milestones of your lives against the backdrop of the architectural space, a faithful restoration of the Mitsubishi Ichigokan built in 1894. We offer a special experience where the architectural design, passed down through generations, intersects with the story of a new life.

Comment from Representative Director Noritomo Satomi

We have photographed many hotel weddings over the years. Through this experience, we have strongly felt that wedding photos are not just records, but an important culture that supports one's life thereafter.

In recent years, wedding formats have diversified, and more couples are choosing "nashi-kon." On the other hand, the desire to "beautifully preserve life's milestones" remains unchanged.

We are deeply honored to have been able to realize this initiative at the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Fine Arts. We feel a great significance in being able to capture the important milestones of couples embarking on a new life in the museum's unique and charming spaces, characterized by its impressive red brick.

We aim to develop this project not merely as a photo wedding plan, but as a new option for documenting life's milestones in a space that offers cultural immersion.

We also hope that this initiative will expand as a new model for the utilization of cultural facilities, and by creating opportunities to experience history and culture, it will contribute to passing on the appeal of cultural assets to future generations.
