Atam Academy Student Exhibition "My Dream Room Exhibition" to be Held from July 16, 2026

Atam Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Jun Miyazawa, hereinafter referred to as Atam Academy), which operates an online illustration school, will hold the "My Dream Room Exhibition" from Thursday, July 16, to Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Cube Gallery Space on the 8th floor of Shibuya Hikarie. The exhibition will feature 606 works by students who have worked on Atam Academy's popular curriculum "Let's Create My Dream Room!".

About the My Dream Room Exhibition

If you had a "dream room" made up of only things you love, what kind of room would you imagine?
The "My Dream Room Exhibition" is a student art exhibition that brings together works designed by students from Atam Academy, an illustration school, who are in elementary, junior high, and high school. They imagine the region they want to live in and how they would spend their time in their homes, and then design their ideal rooms.
606 works, filled with children's dreams and ideals, will be gathered.

Exhibitions are held annually as a regular event, serving as a first step for students to act as artists.
Through these exhibitions, we hope that the experience of having their illustrations appreciated by visitors, receiving feedback, and even being purchased will become a valuable asset for the children's future.
Providing regular opportunities to present their work allows them to feel their own growth and changes.
The July 2025 exhibition was held at Shibuya Hikarie and attracted over 4,000 visitors.
Presenting their illustrations at an exhibition with many visitors can further boost their motivation for creative activities.

About the "Let's Create My Dream Room!" Curriculum Design

The theme for this exhibition is "Let's Create My Dream Room!", where students imagine the region they want to live in and how they would spend their time in their homes, and then design their ideal rooms.
Focusing on the living environment, students develop the ability to imagine characters' daily lives and express their living spaces.
Atam students tackle the assignment by choosing one of three courses.

■ Enjoy Course (For lower elementary school grades)

This course emphasizes student interest and focuses on subjective expression.

The goal is to improve creative motivation by first enjoying the act of drawing.

Room depth is expressed through the overlapping of objects.

■ Frontier Course (For upper elementary school grades)

This course challenges students to think objectively, based on their interests.

Students gradually become aware of how their drawings and colors are perceived by others, aiming for illustrations that deeply appeal to people.

Room depth is expressed through the difference in the size of objects and by drawing them at an angle.

■ Academic Course (For junior high and high school students)

This course allows students to enjoy research and thinking itself, and to learn professional techniques in earnest.

The aim is to deepen understanding of the theme and further enhance specialized knowledge, fundamental drawing skills, and critical thinking.

Room depth is expressed using geometric perspective or curvilinear perspective, which allows for a more accurate representation of three-dimensional space.

Comment from Curriculum Supervisor, Marrie-sensei

I am Marrie, supervising the curriculum at Atam Academy.

Last year's exhibition was themed around character design, so for this year, we planned the "Drawing a Dream Room" curriculum as the exhibition theme to enable the expression of space, including backgrounds.

A room reflects not only the tastes and preferences of its inhabitant but is also greatly influenced by the region and external environment. By depicting the room's role, furniture, tools, and the inhabitant's belongings and clothing while imagining life there, including the environment outside the room, there is a natural creation of space for imagining the world and story of the illustration.

While it is important to draw according to certain theories like perspective for spatial composition, we also believe that narrative and the message conveyed in the illustration are crucial for creating art that appeals to the human heart.

I am eagerly looking forward to seeing the "Dream Rooms" filled with the students' thoughts and messages at the exhibition.
