TECTA, a unique brand that inherits the Bauhaus design philosophy into the present day through furniture.
Bauhaus, despite its short period of only 14 years (1919-1933), is a German art school that laid the foundation for current architecture and industrial design and continues to influence them. Since its establishment in 1972, TECTA has reissued numerous masterpiece furniture pieces representing Bauhaus, including chairs designed by Walter Gropius, its first director, Mies van der Rohe, who became the last director of Bauhaus, and Marcel Breuer, who studied at Bauhaus and later became a professor as a master.
This exhibition, the second of its kind, focuses on the philosophy of Walter Gropius, known as a pioneer of modernist architecture and the founder of Bauhaus. Under his philosophy that "design is not merely an intellectual concept or a material thing, but a part of the 'material of life' essential for everyone in civilized society," the exhibition will be developed around the theme of "design that blends into modern life."
At the venue, a realistic living space with actual furniture arranged will be reproduced, proposing how TECTA products, derived from Bauhaus, harmonize with modern life. Visitors can experience the comfort and spatiality by actually sitting on the furniture.

This exhibition will bring together the original Bauhaus collections that TECTA has continued to inherit, such as Walter Gropius's "F51 ARM CHAIR" (first director of Bauhaus), Mies van der Rohe's "D42 ARM CHAIR" (last director of Bauhaus), and Marcel Breuer's folding model of the Wassily Chair, "D4 FOLDING CHAIR."

■ "Miracle Table M21" born from the collaboration of four masters
This exhibition will also highlight the appeal of "M21," which has been a representative table of TECTA since its announcement in 1991 and has been loved in over 10,000 Japanese homes. The M21 is called the "Miracle Table" because it was created through the collaboration of the following four masters:
Jean Prouvé
Axel Bruchhäuser
Peter & Alison Smithson
Stefan Wewerka
Jean Prouvé: Sketched the unique irregular top form.
Axel Bruchhäuser (TECTA founder): Designed the legs inspired by the fireplace at Prouvé's house. Peter Smithson: Proposed drilling holes in the legs to bring lightness to the massive design.
Stefan Wewerka: Proposed placing a glass shelf between the legs to achieve both a floating sensation and functionality.
The M21 was born from the magnificent fusion of each master's approach to "materials," "ideas," and "functions," and the engineering knowledge of Axel Bruchhäuser, who is also the founder of TECTA.
■ New items inheriting the Bauhaus philosophy
New collections that redesign the Bauhaus design philosophy with a modern interpretation will also be exhibited.

The "M21 Table," with its irregular, non-square, non-round, and front-less shape, was born from a single sketch of a tabletop by the master Jean Prouvé. It has been a long-selling product since 1990, thanks to "improved usability due to the irregular tabletop shape and alleviation of mental stress by controlling the user's gaze," and "flexibility born from the center leg, combining functionality and sculptural beauty." This time, designer Katrin Greiling redesigned the base center leg with a modern interpretation, giving birth to the "M22 Table."
The base frame with slits on the sides brings lightness while maintaining the modern sculptural beauty. It is truly a new evolution of a classic.
