"Waraji," traditional Japanese footwear woven from straw. Beach sandals were first made in Japan in the 1950s. In the 1960s, exports from Japan to overseas peaked, with approximately 100 million pairs exported annually, gaining popularity as "Japanese Zori." Sales as "beach sandals" also began in Japan, but they were pushed out by the wave of inexpensive overseas products, and eventually, the beach sandal industry, concentrated in Hyogo Prefecture, disappeared from Japan due to the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

After that, only a few companies now handle these rare items, with the belief that the flame of Japanese manufacturing must not be extinguished.

Cutting the thong is a one-shot deal where mistakes are not allowed. Punching holes where craftsmanship shines, depending on thickness, size, and temperature.

By mixing this biodegradable accelerator into the raw materials of beach sandals, decomposition begins by the action of microorganisms when they are left in the ocean or buried in soil. Decomposition does not start simply by wearing the beach sandals, so it does not affect the product's lifespan. Decomposition varies depending on the environment, so we do not guarantee it.

Currently, 99.9% of beach sandals on the domestic market are imported. We are committed to creating the most ECO-friendly beach sandals ever, made with the meticulous craftsmanship of skilled artisans, and to producing products that "do not extinguish the flame of Japanese manufacturing." This is our sole belief and guiding principle. Furthermore, worn-out rubber from walking, or if lost in the sea or rivers, also poses a significant environmental burden.
