A Japanese confectionery store in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture, celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2022. Omi has long been known as a fertile granary, and Taneya has been trading seeds of grains and root vegetables in this region since the Edo period. Later, in 1872 (Meiji 5), it was founded as a Japanese confectionery store under the same trade name. While preserving the tastes of history and tradition, we continue to refine our sensibilities, creating a world of Japanese confectionery unique to "Taneya" that entrusts seasonal and circulating thoughts, delivering seasonal Japanese sweets.
