Following special screenings in 2023 and 2025, the 'Mészáros Márta Blu-ray Collection' is coming to home video. Mészáros Márta, who won the Golden Bear at the 1975 Berlin International Film Festival for 'Adoption' and later the Special Jury Grand Prix at Cannes for 'Diary for My Children,' has been internationally acclaimed as a filmmaker on par with Agnès Varda.

While her work was not extensively introduced in Japan for a long time, the 2023 release of five films including 'Adoption' surprised audiences with their contemporary relevance. This was followed by a 2025 retrospective of seven films, including the 'Diary' trilogy. This Blu-ray Collection features restored/digital remastered versions of all 12 works shown in Japan, starting September 9th.

'Since the problems of freedom and the situation of women haven’t improved much since I made these films, they will surely be relevant in this day and age.' —— Mészáros Márta
