'KING vs QUEEN Ibaraki Melon General Election' to be Held from June 4 to June 21, 2026

The high-rise complex 'Shibuya Hikarie', directly connected to the East Exit of Shibuya Station, will collaborate with JA Zennoh Ibaraki and Ibaraki Prefecture to host the early summer food fair 'Eat and Vote! KING vs QUEEN Ibaraki Melon General Election' (hereafter referred to as 'this fair') from Thursday, June 4 to Sunday, June 21, 2026, allowing visitors to enjoy the appeal of Ibaraki Prefecture's specialty brand melons. At this fair, 22 stores within Shibuya Hikarie will offer limited-time menus that maximize the appeal of the ingredients, using two major brand melons known as the 'KING & QUEEN' of Ibaraki Prefecture, which boasts the highest melon production in Japan. These include the green-fleshed melon 'Ibaraking', characterized by its refined sweetness and refreshing aroma, and the red-fleshed melon 'Quincy', which is highly sweet, extremely juicy, and rich in fruit juice. Customers can enjoy a rich variety of melon menus, ranging from classic desserts like 'parfaits' and 'puddings' to unique savory dishes such as melon 'skewers' and 'buchimgae (chijimi)'. Furthermore, customers who order the eligible fair menus can vote for their preferred variety, either the green-fleshed 'Ibaraking' or the red-fleshed 'Quincy'. By accessing a dedicated website via a 2D code placed in the stores and voting for the brand melon they wish to support, participants can enter a lottery to win a 'Whole Ibaraki Melon' shipped directly from the production area or a 'Shibuya Hikarie Dining Coupon (worth 3,000 yen)'.
